To The Mod Community.

Pooling Resources and Working Together.

While tempers may be frayed on other parts of the forums, we modders have been pulling together at a fantastic rate. I've noticed with the Dragonlance Team that we have bonded and support one another's work as we work towards a common goal. As time has went on more people have stepped up to the call and offered help and support for the DL Mod. We also help each other with side projects (such as my Undead Rising) as every project we complete moves us closer to our ultimate goals.

The Modeling community has pulled together and are giving each other tips and showing each other what to do on various programs to get things working and learn the necessary steps to get our models in game and working and I'd like to see them work together more as this is a very important part of Any good Mod or Total Conversion and a very Important step in the modding process.

So far for the last week or two the modding section of the forums here has managed to maintain that pre-launch camaraderie that we all shared and I'd like to see this bond grow even more. Lets all help each other with our respective mods if we can. The more mods that get done the more time it frees up for us to help each other and the more quality mods for the game we'll see here on the forums. I'm very proud to call myself a member and team leader of this community.

The Dragonlance Mod Team is having a Team Meeting this weekend, most likely Sunday Night around 8 PM or 9 PM (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) . This meeting will take place in a conference over Yahoo Messenger and I am opening this meeting to the community of modders here so that anyone who wishes to learn what our plans are and share modding information and tips is welcome to join us. If you'd like to take part, get Yahoo Messenger and add the contact name [email protected] ( <---- that's me). When the time for the meeting comes if I see you online and know you'd like to take part then you'll be invited via instant message to take part in the conference.

Let's all keep up the great work and camaraderie we have here in this section of the forums. I'll be happy to help anyone in any way I can so feel free to ask questions or to ask for help. If I have any useful knowledge, I will impart it to those who seek it and I hope we can continue to count on each other to do the same.

Keep on rockin Elemental Modders!!!!!

Hey Raven,  I just sent you a invite.   I'm just starting to learn how to mod and I thought this would be a great learning experience for me.  If it's cool with you and your team I'd like to sit in at your dev meeting.  If not then please just ignore me. :)

I won't be around on Sunday. Would you be willing to publish an abstract of the conference afterwards? Also, please keep us posted about upcoming talks, if there are any.

I will attempt to be there to discuss unit sizes. It's going to be frustrating building a mod when I know that the game's mechanics are going to go through revision after revision.

it really amazes me to watch you guys on here learn and mod the game.  every incremental step, or new thing learned and passed around is like watching a child grow into maturity.  i have zero experience with modding, but i do have some programming background.  i am watching the mod sub forum intently, and i may try my hand at it after the game's new mechanics are finalized.  i REALLY look forward to your DL mod raven, as i have countless DL books sitting on my shelves(yes i have read them all...well i think lol).  i am particularly interested in how you are going to get the special draconian death effects to work ;) .

I have to say that the modding section of the forums its where all the nice people seem to hang out while the general section seems to be filled with alot of hate and arguements :( I have spent all tonight learning how to use blender and apply uv textures. So expect a few questions thrown your way from me about the process of getting some of my stuff from blender into the game. The guide that has been stickyed looks very helpfull in that regard :)

Glad the modding community is still sane right now.  :)    Looking forward to everything you guys put out and helping however I can.

The interest everyone is showing in this is great. I can see great things in the future of this game and for the Elemental Modders here.

Some people were wondering what's supposed to make Elemental special. I think we have the answer here :)

I'm usually not very fond of mods because modders tend to go separate ways, not everyone of them has the same level of skill, and you can never get an "organic" feel when putting the original game + a couple of mods together. But I really have to say, what I've seen in this forum the past few days is nothing short of amazing.

If Elemental modders can keep a stronger "unity" than the average modding communities do, the results may be fantastic
