Well, you should try opening the CursorXP Plus application and try applying the cursors from there.

Right click on one of them. Choose "open with", and set CursorXP as the default program for that file. That should fix it. Sounds like your file associations have gotten messed up.

Try it again, that SHOULD fix it, if you reset it to open with CursorXP Plus.

bought cursorxp plus 1.31

From where, thru Stardock who created it, it was replaced long ago by CursorFX. AFAIK CursorXP can not be purchased thru Stardock anymore.

If you bought elsewhere sorry to say but you may have paid for a cracked version.

Edit; just found an old website link on my start menu from when I used XP before upgrading to FX, link took me to the CursorFX page.

Edit2; just checked Impulse, Stardock's download manager/installer. I still show a reg. for CursorXP as I had purchased in the past but it is no longer available to be downloaded and installed, it does not show in Impulse at all.

Again, sorry but you may have paid for an illegal/cracked version.

I didn't know it was discontinued

Long ago, if I remember I was a little late to upgrade to CursorFX, my CursorFX folder was created Dec. 2007.

I actually still (I believe intact, and what was the last latest version, not sure) have CursorXP installed, below is from the read me file

What's new in CursorXP Plus 1.31 (December 2004)

Free version?, freezes downloading, trying to install? If downloading may be on your end, just downloaded fine for me first time.

Firstly, what OS are you running? I would assume XP, but let's be sure.

Go to both the cursorxp, and the cursorxpcpl files, right click, properties, set to run in XP SP3 mode. Should fix it.

1 thing not  sure if it applies to your situation but You can not have more than 1 version installed at a time and either work correctly even though you can install 2 at the same time .

My suggestion go to CONTROL PANEL  then INTALLED PROGRAMS ...IF YOU SEE MORE THAN ONE INSTACE OF CURSOR XP or CURSOR FX unistall the unwanted version !

If not both version try to open the double clicked file.

Additionally I would use Cursor XP if on using Widows XP if you are on Vista or Windows7 install Cursor FX.

https://www.stardock.com/products/cursorfx/downloads.asp?referer=WinCustomize

This will run on XP so if all else fails unistall all... then download from here and install this! ;)

Hope it helps! :)
