Quoting the_Peoples_Party, reply 5Earth First, they're still around? Thanks to Rachel Carson's book that is based on faulty science and logic. An out sprung of earth first is the earth liberation front (elf). The two groups rather have people exterminated so earth can be without humanity. My thought is why don't they lead by example?
When I first started listening to the video at the beginning the narrator was like 'Deep in the forest' I thought he was going to say 'of prime evil' or 'of Darfur we have these environmentalist protesting the destruction of Darfur forest due to civil war. In several minutes a hoard of heavily armed men will be bearing down on them to see who has the stronger beliefs.'
Interesting you bring up Carson and her book. That book is responsible for the deaths of millions of people due to that faulty science. And now we have her successor - alGore and his fraud. His plans will do the same as well - and no good will come of the sacrifice of those millions of lives.
You wonder about them being in Darfur (good choice). I wonder why they are not protesting the death of "old growth" forests in Haiti. After all, there are no forests there any longer, young or old.
Haiti is an interesting place though. If you look at Haiti from the air you can see a drastic difference between Haiti and Dominican Republic. Dominican Republic side appears green compared to the brown of Haiti. I have many friends that have lived in Haiti and they have commented from the plane that they could see a difference between the two countries on one Island. Maybe they should go to Haiti and put their environmental worship time there screaming about the death of the land. If they could make Haiti a greener place people might take them more seriously!
I tried reading Carson's book back in the day but I felt a possible aneurysm happening in my brain as the brain cells committed kamikaze and hari kari (BOTH AT THE SAME TIME IF THAT'S POSSIBLE :-0). So, the moral of the story is that if I would have continued reading her book I wouldn't be here today because my brain would have imploded.
Her book is what I would consider reading as a bed time story.... particularly when the kids have misbehaved
I have a whole host of other books that I have as planned bed time story reading for the kids as well
I'm sure Doc, you and I, would agree on most of the books on the "must" read list for 'bed time stories'.
