September Desktop Screenshots

Here's me still 'at it' skinning the controls/cockpit of a Republic F105...buzzing over Melbourne at mach 1.5 and scaring the pants off the locals.....there's one of 'em just to the left of the HUD....he's the blip front/center of the head-up radar.

Not just altering xml....but hunting down photos of the aircraft to add 'bits' of detail to make things a little more realistic....things like the throttle quadrant and main radar cowl....are borrowed from various photos....re-skewed/sized/rotated/etc to suit.

The 'skinning' involved is about as 'complicated' as it gets.

If I get REALLY eager I'll start from scratch and make it all  fair-dinkum exact.  [there's poetic licence as is...to suit screen proportions/resolution.]

This is about how SKINNING differs from wallpaper making.....the result can be interfaced with.....buttons move....gauges read [all those gauges actually work]....;)

SKINNING's FUN .....:)

Stripe Poker (vStyler) cleans the eye with a wonderful, Masterful wba....aided by the Giz's docks and BR2's "Select". I like this theme so much because of it's happy and summery energy.

Thanks for a wonderful Desktop, guys. Makes work easy and pleasy-ing to the eyes and gives energy to the tired old GrandDoc. (*insert shameless Ethan plug here*)

You can found all Backgroundfiles from extern installed Sidebar Gadgets in AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\   (VolumeControlReloaded.gadget).

Make a copy from the original (to make a backup if necessary) open one from the four Versions (it must be three Pictures:...__back , _back_b and _flyback) with your graphical software and change them in that what you like (important is that you don't change the name from the files). If you like used partially transparent backgrounds it can be that it work not correctly-but this is not a must. The best is you test it...more than it not work can't be....

In the AppData you can found also the backgrounds from the DesktopX Widgeds if you like change a background in the theme you like...

The Original Remains The Best

A personal note to the artists of all ranks on this site:

Many times in the past and (hopefully) far fewer in the future, members and others' work is stolen and misrepresented as being another's. This is done from ego, arrogance and the desire for profit.

The members of this site find that to be repugnant, and eschew it.  vStyler is the most recent victim, clearly because of his immense talent. John, take a good look at all who truly love you.

I wish to thank all the members who have stood beside the original artist in the past, present and those who will in the future.

I also wish to thank Jafo. He is the Admin, but he's more. He is the true friend of all who sweat and toil to create. He has in the past and will in the future do the same for one and all.

Today (here) and yesterday he did it for John, and did so even on his birthday. True, we don't celebrate those as we did as children, but they are no less dear...perhaps moreso as they bear witness to the "fewer ahead" arithmetic. I certainly hope the opposite is true for you, Paul.

So, in more than one sense, The Original Remains The Best (and the 'Ja' in Jafo is a true irony).

I remain a fan of all your art, WC-ers.

nice doc.... lovely sentiments... it's great when we can all pull together in a common cause... support a member...and kick a ripper's butt...all involved should be very pleased with the outcome thus far..  :)

Thanks all. :)

All.... except Bebi. She couldn't find the right stick, so she's waiting to get to Oz to find an "Imperial sized Didgeridoo" (best I can translate "biggest effing stick in Australia"). She figures she can find all the right nails and barbed wire when she gets there.

I might be looking for one or two of those myself.....
