I've just changed one file, so that water looks like water.
If you want it, just download the file, unzip it in Elemental\Mods
(it should create a "\gfx" directory and only one file in it, the file that replace Map_Parchment_Tile_Water.png)

Thanks, I was looking for this. Anything that makes the map less brown is good in my book.
That was brilliant. Took me forever to realize "Oh, I have to MAKE the Mods folder!" but otherwise, it looks sooooo pretty now. 
Why is it that it's always the simple mods that have such good results? Downloading.

You planning on doing anymore? This would be a great way to start a cartographer's expansion mod or something to add more color to the map.
I like simple things. But I'd like to be able to change fog of war (the hard one, when youhaven't discovered) with something like real old parchment. I need to do some research and then... we'll see At the moment I'm writing a tutorial about the Cauldron.
