I hate trying to get newborn portraits done. Toddlers are hyper and don't want to sit still. My son wanted to stare at the computer screen to see his face instead of looking at the camera. My one week old daughter was tired...then hungry....then fussy....then just fed up with the whole thing. Sigh. And then when all is said and done, you see the pictures and the kids are never as cute as they are in real life. Sigh.

So here is Maddy at 9 days old. Trust me. She is not this funny looking in the real world....just at Sears.

Maybe they should put a screen next to the camera? That way you can look at the picture of you while still looking where the photographer wants you to look. And everyone looks funny at sears

we never got professional pictures done when ours were little, because we found that taking candid pictures of them at home gave much better results.  the portraits we did get done made them look angry or like they'd gone a coupla rounds with tyson....

At least everyone understands when you say..."it was Sears"

I do love the candids that we took already and I have to say that I am looking forward to seeing the "professional" pictures that she had taken with her dad...I think those will be great. Until then, these will have to do.

someone pointed this out to me and I have to stick it on here....did you notice how well she holds her head up? That may be why she looks so irritated...holding her head up is hard work!

She is such a tiny little doll!  I hate Sears and JCPenney for photography.  I have never gotten decent pictures there.  I bet she is much more adorable in person but she is still very beautiful in the picture.  Thanks for sharing.

Is her full name "Maddy" or is it short for Madison or Madeline?  My daughter's name is Madeline Rose, and we call her Maddie.

Too bad you don't live by me, I'd love to shoot some non-Sears pictures for you   Something more like this:
