Fireball particle effect mod (video and link inside)

while trying to figure out how the cauldron work, i have made a new effect for the fireball (the original looked kinda ugly to me), maybe some of you will like it :)

you can download it here :

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LE528D6I

just put all the file inside the "C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Elemental\Mods" folder

and here is the video

the "mods" folder should be there, make sure you have put it in the right directory

also check "enable mods" (or something like that) in the options, and remember that you need to start a new game to make the mod work

hope it helped ^_^

Could you put up a vid of what it looked like before you modified the effect?  I want to to send it to someone as a USP!

seriously, that looks perfect.  i love the little delayed effect right before it goes off.  very nice!  you should def do a spell effect pack or something.

Great work. Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with.

Not working for me. I didn't have a mods folder either, but made a new game with mods checked and now have one. I know it's easy to install. I made a new game (sandbox) with mods enabled. It now has a mods folder on C: prog..stard...elemental...and I put the 4 files from the zip in the mods folder. Run the new game up til having the fireball spell try it out but still get the same old fireball (and the effect for that works about 80% of the time). I just finished the campaign and still have a final battle save which I didn't erase yet that was from before there was a mods folder. Don't know if that effects a new sandbox game.

Got it working with another restarted game. Really great. Even when the old fireball projectile doesn't show the graphic ( like it still does 20% of the time) I still get the final flash and flame from yours.

Uh oh, looks like my own spell effect mod will have a bit of competition, now. ; )

What we really need are some epic strategic spells that look cool, like storms that persist on the main map and cause various effects and look cool, major blights, plague corruption zones, etc, etc.

It looks awesome but for some reason I can't download it.  Maybe it's because my wireless is very sucky (i'm in a college dorm, it's just slow at times).

That is awesome, this is the style of effects we want more of!  :D
