Help - How do I switch to Tactical battles?

Hello,

I have started the campaign and it always asked me before the battle if I want to play it out or auto resolve. Then I started the sandbox game and the game does not ask me anymore. When I click to attack my sovereign just moves in and attacks. Since i prefer to play wizard type of character it has not been working out very well for both of us. Please help!.

Same hapened to me, it seems like tactical battles are only for the campaign. I haven't played much yet so it may be posibble it is tied to a technology, but I doubt it.

I'm not sure if it's possible with a single unit. The only way i've found is to make a group of more than one unit before attacking, just adding a single peasant to your army should do the trick.

Think of fleets in galciv 2, if you had a fleet you could watch the fire fight, but if you had lone ships it was all played out on the main map. It's much the same concept here.

There is a setting saying what "size" a battle needs to be to go tactical. Check your option settings. I dont have the possibility to check for you right now, but I am pretty sure its there.

Pretty late when I tried my first game but fairly confident that after changing the tactical battle cutoff slider to 0, I could enter tactical battles with my Sovereign alone.

He didn't fare very well mind you, but it was possible.

Pretty sure the option is called "Tactical Threshold" or something.

Thanks everyone. It is called Tact-battle trashold.

Just saving real estate space on the screen I suppose.

Makes it a bit confusing though.
