A NUMBER OF CRASHES AND BUGS

1) Mid - Late game still crashes to desktop... a lot.. usually after about 300+ turns (program stopped working error)... crashes after about 10 turns or so everytime now.

2) Crash to desktop on loading a saved game while in a game (program stopped working error)

3) BUG: Mid to late game play is mired by slowness to move, end turn, make decisions. I get there's a lot in the background to calculate but it's really annoying.

***Needs some touch ups to end turn dialog boxes if more than one is going to pop up. Sometimes it takes a while and not sure which will pop up first.

Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and link the contents into a post here via pastebin. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

The file can be found in My Documents\My Games\Elemental

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug log will be erased and recreated for the new session.

If there was a dump zip created in C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic, please post that too.

I've had some crashes as well.

 

Every time I load a game I get a crash to desktop, and I'm getting a few seemingly random crashes to desktop as well, the turn after conquering a city followed by completed research.

 

Here's my debug.err in a pastebin. Hope it helps.

I just updated the game with the Day 0 patch or prepatch... I get the error when it gets to the end and asks if I want a desktop shortcut (I say yes):

"Installs Game Definition files for Elemental has stopped working" error...

then no desktop icon just a blank shortcut where normally one would be... I had this when I first re-installed with the non beta version as well.

Also another bug is the "save game" bug where everything goes missing on the game map until you zoom in and then back out after saving your game.

 

I WOULD UPLOAD THE .zip DEBUG FILES BUT THEY ARE 1.47 MB WHICH IS TOO BIG FOR THAT STUPID PASTEBIN SITE!!

My game crashes frequently, and I am having a terrible time without an in-game tutorial, as others have also reported. I've been an avid MoM player for years, but NOTHING is intuitive to me in this game so far. The game crashes every time I try to ALT-TAB out. Sometimes the game won't even start. It shows the Elemental splash page, but no menu and it just sits there forever. I played for a while yesterday, but the stuck splash page is all I get today. Yes, I have done today's update.

Given the slowness of my internet connection, there is NO way I am going to try to watch streaming videos for help. It's not fun (or helpful) watching a 5 second increment of video every few minutes.

I looked in my Elemental directory for the debug file. There isn't one.

I am using Windows XP Pro SP3, AMD Athlon 64-bit 3.0 GHz dual core (core processor 6000+) with 2 GB RAM (1.5 GB free), nVidia GEForce 6150SE.
