Forum Behavior: please read

Over the next 72 hours as thousands of people come into the forums looking for help we're looking to keep the signal to noise ratio somewhat under control.

If you want to post your impressions (be they positive or negative) do so with a title such as "My impressions of the game" or "This is my review" or something like that.

If you have a technical problem of some kind, go to the support forum and try to be as specific with your post title as possible.

What we DO NOT want in the forums are posts with titles like "This game SUX" or "This game ROX" or other declaratory titles.

Once the initial onrush of new players is through, we'll lighten up on moderation some so that people can advocate or detract to their hearts content. :)

I can understand that you don't want crap on your forums, but I'm not sure deleting posts is the way to go. Generally, people don't like seeing their efforts go to waste, and if they can't be vocal here, they'll be vocal somewhere else. And there will always be people caught in the cross-fire (with legitimate feedback/complaints, but less well-thought out topic names).

Maybe adding a "whine" forum subsection is an idea?

Edit: Or you could actually call it reviews, feedback and so on.

I'm okay with them being vocal somewhere else.

But customers expect to be able to go to a game's forum and get help.

Best to sticky this , else it will scroll off the main page.

I think splitting your forum into more boards would accomplish the same thing in a better way, ex:

General Discussions
Gameplay Help and Advice
Technical Support and Issues
etc.

... better yet, people, just use some sense.

We don't need more forums, just more discretion .

Good post Frogboy. I support ya.

Exactly and we can't help a lot of them for all the trolling about this game sux or this was left out or this isn't there threads every other thread. I say move them to a specific forum like Rants & Raves and off this main page so newcomers and those looking for help and want to talk about the positive things about the game can find them easily. These complaint trolls just get over zealous when they get started and make individual thread after individual thread about the same damn thing. Move em to another place please.

Frogboy ROX!

Should we start thread with this title, since Frogboy did not forbid that? He said only about game, right?

I would've gone to the support forum, except that I don't see it from the Impulse forums...which is awkward.

ROFL.  True as this is, I assure you, adding forums will be far easier than getting discretion and sense from posters.

note to self:  create "THIS GAME ROXORZ" thread after the initial 72 hours.

Personally, frogboy, I'd be weary of saying "people can [] detract to their hearts content." in reference to something you've got to moderate.  Because some hearts require a lot to be content.

Don't worry, he doesn't really mean it - the forum mods have been whitewashing very actively and deleting many threads that critisize them..

No, they've been deleting threads that are blatant flaming that offer a rant but nothing constructive. There are tons of valid constructive criticisms, and they've even participated in a few of the discussions.

They are still missing a bunch that need to be deleted.

Yeah, they're good (and fast) about fixing the forum, too bad sales isn't as competant. Waiting a week still no access, just had a thread deleted because I was voicing my frustration...

I've also seen fanboy threads get deleted too...so don't think they are just wiping the rant threads.

Edit: Isn't FB supposed to be on vacation?  Like in some valley with a fake moon or something?

Yes...except for that last part.

Rants sometimes have a point to make though. I was hoping to see if the 'fanboys' were correct about Stardock or not and see if anything  would actually get done for a change about the horrible treatment and wait I've gone through cuz of their error. But I guess not, going to get my money refunded and spend my time somewhere else...

@majikayo,

"horrible treatment" really?  stop me......you're starting to sound like a genocide survivor......sigh!  ;P

People don't put up with the same treatment in retail in real life, I don't see why it should be any different online.
