When AI being attached by archers its not smart and can be killed by 2 single unit archers

Right now if there are two player archer units and two AI archer units the AI will chase after one archer and leave the other archer alone to pick off the AI.

If you forced the archers to dig in for one turn after they have moved before being able to shoot and put in a max effective range, that will help a lot in stopping that and making the machine AI tougher.

I don't agree. The AI needs to make calvalry units.

Players shouldn't have to micro manage their units in tactical battle (AI or human) to be effective.  That's why so many of these games are painful -- they are designed such that the "skill" is in monkeying around with individual units in tactical battles. I hate that kind of stuff.

Having skill in tactical battles should matter of course. But it shouldn't come down to dancing around with units, a good battle should be practically over before it starts.

If the AI gets attacked or attacks you with Melee units and you have lots of archers then it deserves to get creamed and you should flame me as an incompetent AI developer.

Yes and no...

If the player manages to completely out-class the AI in sheer volume of units, then yes - the AI should be slaughtered (just like it would happen in real life assuming competency from the person giving orders). But the AI should be able to comprehend when it has the advantage vs when it is disadvantaged: carelessly sending armies of melee units to fight battles that could have been avoided against opposing armies composing of large numbers of ranged units would be terrible (not just for the players enjoyment but also for the AI's civilization).

my issue with archers is the autoresolve battle usually kills 1 or more of my ultra foot knights (each has an attack of 25, defence of 45) 3units in small army(battle rating ~360) against the army of 7 level 1 bandits 2 of which are archers(battle rating 67), but when I battle it manually I kill all without any losses even with TWO ultra foot knights attacking the bandit squad of 7 units, but this is on beta 4, so hopefully will be better on gold OR day0.

I am always pleased when I see this line from an AI coder, seriously. Credit where it's due and whatnot. ;)
