[Beta 4][CTD] Alt-tabbing STILL generated DX errors!

from Elemental Forums

So again, after alt-tabbing for a while, I get a DX error with invalid call when I try to get back into Elemental.

At least it takes about 10-20 alt-tabs now, instead of just one, but the problem is not completely gone.

 

Has the debug information changed location in Beta 4? I can't find it for the game...

Yes, I get the DivX error too most of the times. Being able to Alt+Tab is pretty big for me especially for turn-based games. The released game will support that right? Or is it one of those things that will be "not recommended"?

I've discovered that pressing esc to open the game menu and alt-tabbing is also safer than alt-tabbing directly from the game, since it doesn't produce the weird, graphical glitches that otherwise often happen.

It sounds to be a Direct X error.(is the scrolling background at the Menu a DivX file??).

Regardless, the Final should not have this issue as Alt Tabbing should be doable, surely...

This problem pretty much went away once I began running it in window mode - at full resolution.

 

You may want to try that and see if it works around the current issue so that you can continue multi-tasking until the 0 day comes out :)

I think this may already be addressed ... and I had the same behavior ... We it crashed it would report the error to Microsoft, but not create and Elemental crashlog.  I think Windows intercepted the crash rather than elemental.  I also think this was related to the memory leak they were having ...

I get this even when i minimize with cmd/windows key, iMac7,1(24" ATI M R 2600XT/Pro (old card, i know)) for reference. It doesn't happen every time, just after playing for a while.
