Twilight mod

I'm not a Twilight fan at all.  I just think it would be hilarious and awesome to have a super-obsessed Twilight fan mod.

Factions:  vampires, werewolves, Cullen family ("vegetarian" vampires), humans, Volturi

Map:  detailed world map including all major landmarks from the books and movies

Map reference:  http://www.forkswa.com/twilight

Special ability:  sparkle (does nothing, just makes the vampire character sparkle)

Character bios and portraits, obviously, would reference the books and movies, e.g., "Bella's in love with me; she's just afraid to admit it," or, "I fear bad premonitions for Bella's future."

The whole storyline would revolve around Bella and fighting to kill or protect her.

Too much effort even for a parody. I can't say I wouldn't play it for curiosity sake, but I'd much rather see a mod based on a good franchise.

I'm not even against the vampire genre. I love True Blood. I love Let the Right One In (even though the American version coming out will be an utter steaming pile of crap that totally takes the edge out of the original). I have no idea why people latch onto the absolute worst garbage in this particular genre when there actually is good, solid stuff out there.

Because the solid stuff isn't buff, starry-eye, nor a teen-heartthrob; hence, it makes little money.

But I agree, modder time could be better spent elsewhere, unless they're into that.

If it was really, really, really well done, I might play it. But no matter how good it is, there are definetly better ways to spend your time then mod a Twilight parody.

I think a "World of Darkness" mod would be better.

What?!?! How dare you accuse me of being biased!!! The people of Ravenloft unanimously elected me to speak for them in this matter and there is no way that my pure evil soul could be corrupted by any form of goodness or light. I think you're just being racist against "Ravenites" you cat/tiger loving witch :P

World of Darkness

Throw in Demons, Werewolves, Mages, Wraiths, and Vampires ... and I guess a human faction as well (or just have humans as your general NPCs, meatshield troops, cannonfodder, food, and playthings)

As my parenthesis states ... just have all factions own humans (as slaves or second class citizens, or simply unaware henchmen), with the Champions being the particular monster of choice. Although I would Imagine the "Mage" faction would be the closest you would get to having a full human faction.

Although ... I suppose you could try to have a Witch-Hunter/Demon-hunter/Monster-hunter faction, with extremely weak soldiers (although perhaps slightly stronger than the "meatsheilds" of the other factions) with weaker champions as well.

Then each NPC champion can be either human, mage, vampire, werewolf, demon, or wraith ... and have NPCs hostile to any faction that doesn't resemble them (aka demon NPCs will be always hostile to non demon factions).

At least at first, until considerable subterfuge mechanics are introduced.

Further-more ... I don't see all demons working together ... so I'll jot down my ideas for Factions

Justicars ( Good Demons and Most Mages)/ Good Demons + Technocrats

Renegades (Chaotic Mages and Most Wraiths)/ Nephandi + Wraiths

Armageddonites (Most/Evil Demons and Evil Wraiths)/ Demons, Pentex, and Black Spiral Dancers

Son of Man (Traditional Werewolves and Human Mercenaries)

Keepers (Most/Traditional Vampires, a few Worldly Demons, and Human Slaves/Mercenaries)

Luna's Bounty (Naturalist Werewolves, Shape-shifters, and Druids)/ Werewolves + Most Shapeshifters + elements of Council of Nine

Sixth Chapter (All Humans-> Hunters, Zealots, Businessmen ... all lead by one very cunning/deceptive Vampire)

Forgotten Ones (Savage Vampires, Ghouls, and aberrations/rebels/experiments)

Someone posted a zombie mod idea, where the zombies would transform fallen human units into zombies.  Something like that would be cool with vampires and werewolves, too.  Those factions could infect/transform human enemies.  (Imagine a Daybreakers scenario in which nearly all humans have been transformed into vampires.)

Vampire Hunters and Werewolf Hunters (Van Helsing types) could be the ultimate weapon (end of a tech tree) against those factions, having silver arrows, stakes, and so on, to inflict heavy damage against those enemies.  This could be a way to enhance the Adventurer tree, too.
