Concert was fun, but...

The concert tonite was fun, though I was reminded yet again why I tend to not enjoy myself as much at "Rock" concerts...

Tonite's concert (for me and my daughter) was Dave Matthews Band with Zac Brown Band opening for them.  We were there because we enjoy both acts, though I especially like the Zac Brown Band.  Regardless, the crowd was, as it always seems at Nationals Park, late arriving and late getting into their respective seats so when Zac Brown Band started playing the seating area was still far from full and we fairly comfortably sat back and enjoyed the music as it flowed.

By the end of the Zac Brown Band set the seats had started to fill, though the ones in front of my daughter and I remained empty until just before Dave Matthews Band took the stage.  For whatever reason the 3 seats to my daughter's right in the half row we were seated in remained empty through the event, but I digress.  It was the 2 seats in front of my daughter and I that frustrated me a good bit, as well as an individual that was one or two rows back and over in the section to my left.  Apparently the female that was there wasn't particularly pleased with the set list as she kept drunkenly hollering out "This sucks, Dave" as if Dave Matthews could hear her from about 200 - 300 feet away over on the stage as he played guitar and sang.  Uh, yeah, sure that will get him to change the set list.  NOT!

Anyway, the seats in front of my daughter and I were nearly as bothersome as it seems the old geezer (I say that because they guy had far more gray in his hair than I do, though I admit to having a bigger bald spot then that particular "gentleman" did) and his skinny wench apparently felt that the most comfortable part of their seats to sit on would be the backs of their seats -- firmly planting them in front of my daughter and I as we tried to peek around them to see the stages, screens or anything close to it.  How nice of them to so thoroughly enjoy their unblocked view of the stage without concern for the people behind them, leaving me (and my daughter) wondering why they were so cheap that they couldn't be bothered to pay for the general admission "floor" tickets where they could have stood up for the entire show just like the rest of the people down there.  Meanwhile the stadium seating -- with rows set at multiple levels -- are just about useless for those that actually want to make use of the seats they paid such expensive prices for.

Thankfully most of the rest of the shows that we have tickets coming up for are more on the Country side of the musical spectrum and while there are people at those shows that will stand, dance and have a good time, they don't tend to do it for the entire show so hopefully we'll get to make better use of the seats we've paid for at those shows.
