Help about changing my Wallpaper

already installed Stardocks My colors

I had Stardocks My Colors installed when I first bought my laptop (with Windows 7 Starter) so I was able to change my wallpaper at the beginning.

Just last night before I went to bed, I let Windows update itself until it completely shuts down. When i opened my laptop the following morning, I found out that its theme was changed and it had the ugly Start button, and the Recycle bin and such applications have no icon. Most important of all, my wallpaper before was gone, and it was replaced by the ordinary Windows 7 wallpaper.

I opened Stardocks My Colors and tried to change the wallpaper but it couldn't. I also noticed that only Windows 7 Aero was left in the Themes tab of the application.

I tried to look for ways on how to fix it but I can't really find it. So I hope I can find the solution to this as soon as possible. Thanks.

Did you try restoring to a point just before your update?

Have you checked to see if MyColors is installed correctly?

No, i didn't touch my wallpaper before my PC updated itself. Or what point is that exactly? Sorry.

I had someone from the store I bought my laptop install My Colors for me, so I guess it's supposed to be installed correctly. I also checked if there are any updates available but there weren't any.

Whoa... are you sure the MyColors you have is up to date, downloaded via Impulse? Did the person who installed it know how to do it correctly?

Were I you I'd check to see if it's installed correctly through Impulse. The way to do that is to open Impulse, and then to left click on MyColors under the "My Software" tab and then press 'Shift' and right click at the same time. On the menu that opens, choose 'Verify Installation'

Let me know what happens, ok? Also... W7 Starter is generally for not very powerful machines.... I think you should also run your "Windows Experience Index". That will let me know if you can get effects like transparency, etc.

I don't remember anything the guy installed via Impulse ._.;;

Hmm, is it okay if I just uninstall my My Colors and download My Colors via Impulse?
