WindowBlinds; Menu fonts problem

I can't figure out what I have done, but my disabled menu fonts (the ones that should be grayed out) are now fuzzy. They look terrible. Anyone have a clue what I've done, and/or how to fix it?
I swear, I don't think I'll ever complete this skin,.............. the closer I get to finishing, the more stuff I find that needs fixing.

It happened to me once...in my case it was caused by the shadow XP puts on disabled fonts.Which I think is derived from the 3d button highlights and shadows section in misc.,colors. Dont remember which it was tho,a shadow or highlight.

You know Brain, we should  start a thread to get things documented. Everyone could add what they know, where things are, what they effect, etc....... Then I could add the info to the FAQ database, and we would have some documentation to work with. It would benefit everyone, especially people new to skinning, and people like me, that can't remember what I did 10 minutes ago.

And thanx, I have been messing with that area, trying to get rid of that stupid outline when buttons are clicked.  There's another example.... I don't know what that outline is called, other than stupid.

I think the outline you're referring to is , left tree-->bar items
right tree-->menu selection outline. (I think). But I have also had that annoying problem with the fuzzy disabled text. When it happens, seems like I fiddle with it forever to fix it, then when it is fixed, I don't have a clue how I fixed it.

I think it's Cleartype that causes this.

It's Button Shadow and Button Light that affect this. To eliminate the fuzziness, set Button Light to the same color as MenuBackground and set Button Shadow to the color you want the disabled text to be.
Button Shadow and Button Light are in the 3D Controls section of Colors.

/me awaits Koasati's "WB foibles" faq with a great wailing and a gnashing of teeth etc, and alot of tea and cake, and a fair bit of snoozing

Hippy and pic may both be right.

Pictoratus,  is right on the mark.....  /me hands pic a cigar....       (Don't like Cleartype, it screws more than it fixes)

It's juggling act, as those settings affect other things as well.

Nobody, other than Tiggz, has commenting on my idea of building a FAQ for skinning WindowBlinds........ if we wait for Stardock to document this stuff, some of us will be long dead, and still waiting. So, what do you guys think?

Tiggz, I really enjoyed your response..........  Monty would be proud.

We started one here awhile back, but we got off topic a few times and it got a little unorganized and the thread died.If it were done right,it would be fabuloso.

You can see what I mean.

Yes, I see what you mean.......... we would have to keep the chit-chat down to a minimum, and focus on the task.

Alright! Nothing like a good cigar!

Yeah, I'd like to see a FAQ also. After I spend an inordinate amount of time trying to find out how to do something, I rarely write it down, so by the next time it's completely forgotten!

Same here pic,too many"trick" settings to remember!

I wonder if this FAQ will be searchable for specific problems.?
Not really searchable, but I'll try to put it together in a logical manner (imagine that)... so it shouldn't be too hard to find what you're looking for.

Sad thing is ,I will probably be looking for my own tips, who can remember all this stuff?

I'm watching the growing tips thread with great interest, well done and thankyou all. You could almost do with a parallel thread for the clueless o/ to pose their particular tip requests so as to keep the actual tip thread free from fluff.

Anyway, however it goes I've already learnt some things which were vexing me so thx to Koasati and all his little wizards.

I think one of the main things to go on the FAQ is what are the exact dimensions of all the graphics, that would be a great start

Yes thats important,we are having a slight problem with that one concerning the start menu.
