ugly red bar i cant get rid of

I'm new at skinning, and I think I have done a pretty good job @ tha skin I did, but there is this ugly red bar on the internet screen where it would normally show the link that a mouse would hover over. I'm sorry i can't explain it that well, but what is that called and how do i get rid of it so i can change it to a white? the red makes up 1/2 tha colors of my skin, so its kinda hard to figure out what it is, so if you can help me out, I'd really appreciate it!!
THANKS!!

it is on the bottom. do you know where you get the status bar that tells you how much of a page has downloaded or whatever? its the very bottom bar on the internet screen. the bar is about an inch high.

Perhaps the "Progress bar", in the Status bar, of Internet Explorer, is what you're talking about.  I'm really not sure going on your description.

progress bars do not show links when you hoover your mouse over them?
you're possibly talking about the "Taskbar" maybe?

no. its not the taskbar. With our internet service, we have an inch high bar @ tha bottom of the screen and when we roll over a link on a site, the complete web adress shows up right on that 1'' bar.

What internet service do you use? Are you using Internet Explorer, or are you forced to use a proprietary browser?

It may be easier for people to try to help you if you can take a screenshot of what you're talking about and upload it into your profile.

Definitely Status bar. It show the URL when mouse-over a link. Make a new one 204 x 15 with three states, sunk, raised or flat - each one of those will be 68 x 15.
