Free version

Cannot apply

Despite uninstalling and re-installing and attempting to remove "OS2 Time Warp" my default boot screen is now OS2TW. Is this because I'm running the free version, if so it defeats the object.

Please advise.

No one here has any idea what you are trying to install it on. you do know it won't run on windows and was made for IBM. It hasn't been updated since I believe around 2002 and than was made for a specific processor.

Thanks for that DaveBax; you've enlightened me; was driving me nuts. Only just prior to reading your (very prompt, thankyou) reply had I sussed through posts from 2007 and realised that I'm actually trying a none Windows application! Yes I know, pretty stupid eh?

Any ideas/advice on bootscreen alternatives for Vista Basic and what I need to install (if such a thing is possible), would be much appreciated.

Penangry.

Penangry, there is a  SD Vista bootskin app you can get from here. LINK  It works well with Vista Basic, which I had on my old rig and best of all, it's free!

Just make sure you use Vista, not XP bootscreens with it. Have fun.

Thanks very much Wizard 1956 for your follow-up and the link however it’s that very app that got me into this situation. The “OS2TW” screen to which I refer was one of 3 screens provided upon install and promptly established itself as an irremovable default screen. I have since completely uninstalled the app and thankfully OS2TW has gone leaving me with a blank screen (other than the progress display) at boot – up.

I really do appreciate the prompt efficiency with which you and DaveBax have treated my query and I’ll be grateful for any other suggestions if you have time.

Many thanks.

That doesn't sound like Bootskin for Vista.   I'm pretty sure it comes with many more skins than 3 and OS2TW wasn't one of them. Where did you download the version you used from? How did it "establish itself"?

To fix your blank screen you could download and reinstall BootskinVista then use it to reapply the default bootskin. That should get things back to normal.
