Editing Skins - Need Help Please

Hey guys. I downloaded this awesome skin called Sportsman. I wanted to change the whole thing to a different colour, so what do i do? open up all the picture files in photoshop and change them. Easy enough. But now windowblinds won't let me install it. I figured I could just make another folder called like Sportsman_Blue and put everything in there and it would work fine, but nooooooo. So i zp all the files together and then click "Install skin from disk" in windowblinds, navigate to the file and press ok, but does the skin install? nooooo. How do I get this skin to work!! This is for personal use only obviously, like I want to be sued or something.

Sportsman is a great one.If all you changed was the color of the bitmaps it should have been fine I would think.Maybe you could try redownloading the original WB and selecting all your recolored ones from your version and copying them over.(you would have to save your version somewhere else first.)If you have SkinStudio you can recolor skins easily in just a few clicks.

yea i just changed the colours of the bitmaps and the tga's. Well first I copied all the files to a "Sportsman_Blue" Folder and then changed those ones so I could keep the original one...but for some reason I couldn't get it to load, I dunno.

Did your new folder have all the wb files or just the images?

I think I know how to fix this,

Go to the Sportsman-Blue folder, and open the UIS file in a text editor.
Using the "find and replace" tool.
Set it to find sportsman, and the replace it with sportsman-blue. All instances.
Save it.
Open your WindowBlinds Configuration Window, or Display properties, and it should be there.

does that mean i have to rename all the files too? like any files that have "sportsman" change them to "sportsman_blue"?? because there are a hwole bunch of like "sportsman.uis_button.checkbox.WB4" and stuff like that....

Delete all of the .WB4 files, when WindowBlinds loads the skin, those files will be created.  I just tried it........  worked for me..

ok i changed all the "sportsman" to "sportsman_blue" in the "sportsman.uis" files and renamed that uis file to "sportsman_blue" then i renamed all the other ones that i stated above to be "sportsman_blue.uis_button.checkbox.wb4" etc. etc. down the rest of them which are named different....Then I went into windowblinds and I saw a "sportsman_blue" in there but there was no previews, and when i applied it it was all messed up.

Oops nevermind, when i went back into the .uis file and looked at it, all the "sportsman_blue"s were "sportsman_blue_blue" for some reason hahahaha. There is one problem though, the scrollbars are still yellow and I don't know where the files for them are. But they don't even show up on the windows anyway so I dunno.

I wish you could edit posts, eeerrrrr

This is what I found out. When i went further down in the directory, and looked further at the skin, I noticed that the start menu was also not blue like it is supposed to be. (in the windows XP way) So when i scrolled down in the directory, I found a "xpstuff.xp" file. So i opened that up with notepad and changed all the "sportsman" to "sportsman" blue but it still doesn't work.....I'm stumped >
