"Save"?

I've seen in a bunch of guides a suggestion to Save a level (at certain points) instead of picking a new ability. What's the advantage of doing that?

Usually it's better to get 2 awesome skills at a particular threshold (10 being the most common but 4 and 7 being pretty common too) then get an "okay" skill at 9, then have to choose which of 2 awesome skills to get at 10 and which at 11. Usually it's better to get the 2x awesome at 10 and then the okay skill at 11 then okay at 9, one awesome at 10 and second awesome at 11.

I see; the skill choices available at the "saved" levels might be ones you'd want to skip entirely due to the character design.

Most of the most-effective builds for most demigods (lotsa mosts) are like this:

1. Awesome Skill A

2. Awesome Skill B

3. SAVE

4. A II + B II

5. Ultimate Crazy Good Skill C

6. SAVE

7. A III + B III

8. Okay skill D

9. SAVE

10. A IV + C II

11. B IV

12. D II

13. D III

14. SAVE

15. A V + C III

16. B V

17. D IV

18. D V

19. Shitty Skill F I

20. F II
