Generals

The way demigod is now, which demigod do you feel is actually best to be a general with and why?

Spoiler alert

lord erebus sucks more then queen do, plus he also bites. XD

Edit

Seriously though; which general demigod actually feels like you are playing a general when you are doing a minion build, and why? Which general do you think has the better/best minion build of them all?

Oak is the most minion-y character, mainly because his lore revolves around his ability to summon fallen warriors to fight as spirits.

for minion builds Oak/erebus's seem to be the most effective. Sedna's is just laughable and Queens I have limited experience playing against good ones and overall I was not terribly impressed.

Kind of a loaded question...

The best QoT builds use 4 minions and 6 from idols, but this also reqires ground spikes... so is it a real minion build? Can you call it a hybrid build if you try the same thing without the 4 minions and get your ass handed to you? Equally amusing is, yeah, I would love to use Ring od Divine Might on QoT... but I can't. She is still crushed in seconds late game even while using BoTF.

LE was once borderline viable as a full minion build, but that has been nerfed to hell. So no, Hybrid only in certain situatios were you need fodder to soak damage (rook), or for harassing Sedna/DA because they don't deel well with minions. Maybe if they could swarm with him? :D

Yetis? Hah! Ball lightning are even less viable. The only time and reason they are taken is end game for the level 15 kamikazi.

Pretty much Oak is the only pure minion build that has any viability. Even that is an inferior path towards victory in most games, because his minions are easily avoided by evry DG, except Rook, simply by not standing still.

I've run this several times and it's pretty effective. Not the best Sedna build out there, but it does do its job. RoDM helps her creeps and max morale demolishers do a lot of damage. Also, unlike a lot of other minion builds, your demigod is actually useful in a fight by standing back just in Healing Wind II range and covering them with MP. Then healing them as much as you can (375 mana is dirt cheap).

Your weaknesses are if you lose your monks and your demolishers you're pretty much dead in the water until you can res them. You also have no escape mechanism (unlike a Spirit Oak with Shield III or a minion Erebus with one level in Bite + Batswarm) so you can't play this against an Erebus. Or a TB/Occulus 'cause of their anti-minion. Oak will just surge your minions away, and against UB other builds are better. And it's not enough to really deal with a Rook by yourself :P And queen will melt your creeps away... :D j/k

It's an alright build and I've had some fun with it. It's awesome with an Assassin Oak/Fire TB combination because Fire Aura'd + Surged minions are vicious.

I always figured minions were mainly a way of pulling down towers rapidly and assisting DGs from afar. It is nice to be able to go shopping while simultaneously being able to deal a ton of damage at a flag.
