Transparency problem and missing corners...

I am trying my first skin project and one of the main problems I am having is transparency. The pink (255 0 255) shows along the edges of my windows frame. I have no clue of how to make it not visable such as a color code number or something. When TGA images are used for buttons I either have a black or white box around it. Sometimes TGA images work for my start menu and other times not. When experiment with other skins to see how they work sometimes my images work with them with minor adjustments such as the margins and tile/stretch.
Another problem I am having is that I have no clue where my corners go around my window frame. I haven't been able to get them to show up on any skin I have messed with.
I have fought with this for close to 10 hours and not getting any where. I have searched for tutorials on this with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When using Magic Pink for transparency, you can't use anti-aliasing. (I'm just guessing that this is your problem)

TGA files must be 32bit uncompressed. Some graphics programs have trouble saving these correctly. What app are you using for graphics?

Corners of the frame are generally part of the left and right sides of the frame.

Hope this helps a bit.

Make sure when you use targas you have the translucency attribute enabled in skinstudio, otherwise they won't display right. There are some good tutorials, just click on the help button in skinstudio and you will see them

Sounds like you have window border transparency disabled, which is accounting for the pink showing on your borders.

Another problem is that sometimes magic pink dosnt stretch well. You can adjust for that with margins(so that the pink next to another color is not being stretched)

I am using Photoshop 7 to create all my images. When I use skinstudio to "edit" the skin as far as tiling and stretching is concerned at the corners I am leaving them the way I created them as I did in Photoshop. For some reason when I try to create the skin in skinstudio the active menu would be fine but the inactive menu would show the pink or vice versa or that the left side would show the pink and the right would be fine or vice versa. Thanks for the advice. I will give it another go. I decided to take a break from skinning since it has given me headaches and worked on making websites.
Thanks for your help.
