Problem (SOLVED) accessing DesktopX Sidebar-framework

Windows 7 64 bit....

Hey guys, anyone know why I get this error when trying to run a DesktopX made windows sidebar gadget on 64 bit 7?

"Problem accessing DesktopX Sidebar-framework"  and it says to click here but it leads to a blank site that never loads.

Ones I made run on the 32 bit win 7, but not on 64 bit. :annoyed:

Thanks to JuniorCrooks for leading me to the fix for this error.

For those of you having trouble with DX made sidebar gadgets on 64 bit, here is the fix.

Go to your Program Files x64 and make a backup copy of your sidebar.exe file. Go to the Program Files x86 sidebar gadget folder and copy the sidebar.exe, take it and paste it into the 64 bit sidebar folder, . Now you can run DX made sidebar gadgets!

Thanks Junior!!!!!!

I've never been one to complain but...seems to me ODNT has been sliding downhill of late. When I ran it on XP it was the bomb, you couldn't touch it. But lately...I don't know. The only real issue I ever had was that Objectdock never really worked on XP. Sometimes it would refuse to load and other times only parts of it would show. Now that I've got Win7 it'll load but that's as far as it goes. It crashes every time I try to add a new dock. And last night...I loaded the Gunslinger suite (the three parts I have, WB, Rainy and Sysmetrix) as soon as I hit the start menu explorer crashed and Gunslinger went to pieces. Explorer has never crashed on my old machine nor on this one. In my opinion with the exception of Windowblinds, which works beautifully 98.9% of the time, Fences and Rainlendar and the gadgets and widgets nothing else seems to cut it. I've got DX installed but I have yet to use it because it doesn't seem to support my screen resolution of 1366x768. Mine may be a laptop but that shouldn't matter. I really like StarDock's products and will most of the time swear by them. Please load them up and put the apps through the wringer. I'm sure you'll be able to see the problems with them and hopefully give us die-hards something worthwhile again. You put this stuff together and created a kickass product. Now's the time to make it shine like it should.

If the DX theme in question is bigger than 1366 x 768, I can see where you'd have to rearrange things. Almost all my themes will fit into a 1024x768 resolution, so DX does support your res.

Be sure your not running DX 4.0, it doesn't support anything. DX 3.5 is fine on my 1920x1080 resolution. But I still try to make everything fit in 1024 wide.

I made sure it's 3.5. I tried a couple of the themes and they look so big on the screen there's hardly room left for other things. Basically I keep it installed to run the widgets and gadgets. Oh...and I solved my problem with the docks. Downloaded Nexus dock and it runs smooth as glass. No problems. I'll put up a sample here to give you an idea before uploading.

It may be minimalistic but I prefer one not so busy.

ObjectDock isn't part of ObjectDesktop BTW.

Regarding ObjectDesktop, I have been assured that DesktopX will be getting some more attention once elemental has been shipped and we do still have another new app which is planned to be added to ObjectDesktop later this year.

It's just a screen shot. I'm looking for just the right mix. CF65 fits perfectly, does all I need, web links, short cuts, weather, etc. The dock on the right is the Nexus Dock and Fences is why you don't see the icons and the task bar is on auto-hide. Screenies is about all I can do right. Rainlendar 2 I have yet to figure out and I'm reluctant to upload a rainie that isn't going to work properly because they're made for the old one. I'm workin' on it though. Oh...the wall is Spice by teddybearcholla. Icon pack is SKY TECHNOLOGY by bloody, the WB is Tinted by Mrsguy and the cursor is Aluminum Aero by B2R. On the Nexus Dock is a white page with the FireFox logo. It's a link to Pandora Internet Radio. Link is http://www. pandora .com. How do you insert a link?

How do you insert a link?

First off you want to take out the Spaces you have in it.

after copying it or typping it Highlight the Link  the fourth one to the left of the Smile (Insert / Edit Link) click it (it looks like a infinity sign A.K.A. a side ward 8)

After clicking on (Insert / Edit Link)  make sure that the LINK URL is there if not right click in the box and paste

as for target it's your pick  I do it so it opens in a new tab (A.K.A. New window)

for Title I never can get it to work  should let you type Pandora just an Example

If I may,

Theme Manager is a total train wreck, can someone maybe look into getting it to actually manage to work?o_O

Tweak7. The processor list in the carbon footprint section is way out of date. I would like to see my Phenom 9850/PhenomII's in the list along with the new Intel CPU's for comparison.. Also a restore(without using MS System Restore) or undo tweak function would be most appreciated.

Not sure if this applies to anyone else but with IP, when changing folder view (size)in explorer, it's hit and miss on displaying the icons properly. sometimes all are skinned , sometimes some are  skinned/Windows default mixed even with the same package applied.

MyColors isn't very useful anymore without any Windows7 compatible themes for it. Updates to the themes we were given as ODNT subscribers would be a great bonus.

Cursor FX,while not an ODNT app still has to be double clicked to change cursors, annoying but not a biggy.

There are other little quirks here and there that come and go so I like to just call them "random features":-"

Thank you for your time in addressing our concerns, you're a class act Neil.

Maybe a wish list thread for ODNT 2011 would be a good idea.:maybe:
