So what kinds of mods are you guys expecting people to make that you would NOT like to play.
For me it's the inevitable Civilization clone...
Clone #43897345834673 of famous game/book/movie/comic/anime/manga/cartoon/pictogram unless it's well done and the theme interests me. I'll be always more openminded about new IPs than to mods about something that already exists.

I would not play an Eragon or whatever mod. Derivative mod of derivative books. It would be terrible.

I can't think of any mod that I wouldn't try at least once. I mean, even a Little Ponies mod might be funny and satisfy my sick curiosity. Actually, come to think of it, the only kind of mod I don't play are Star Wars mods. Not because I hate Star Wars or am even against Star Wars mods. It's just I'm always drawn to other mods and for some reason Star Wars is just low on my list.
Settlers of Cataan Mod- The same game with no battles and primitive game mechanics. Someone should though, just in case I get bored of my Super Mario World mod.
Aside from the various porn permutations, a mod I would avoid would probably be some sort of Civil War historical thingy, or perhaps a too-faithful Sword Of Truth reconstruction.
I don't know what you mean by "too-faithful" here, but I think a SoT-based mod is not a bad idea. Mord-Sith would be a cool unit 
I'm glad to see some of the old Age of Wonders modders lurking here. 
What I'd like to play for mods.
1. Final Fantasy Tactics Mod (Dragoon
), 2. Master of Monsters (Evolving Monsters )
3. Shining Froce (Centaurs Rock+Story), 4. Dark Wizard (
), 5. Ogre Battle (Battle Maps)
I could go on and on....
What I don't want to play? Nothing, I'll try anything just about before I knock it.
I don't see why a pokemon mod, or DBZ mod would be bad 
Sure you might not like those animes/cartoons, but the game cores are could be epic. Pokemon by itself has had almost the same formula for over 15 years now and people are still rushing out to buy the game all the time.
pokemon mod - your soverign would be a pokemon trainer, he could roam around and pick up a total of 6 "pokemon" units ONLY and fight his way through gyms (villages) If anything this mod would be very easy to make and actually play well.

How about a Serial Experiments Lain mod?
I'd play either.
Or an Ergo Proxy mod.
