Some Elemental Beta 2a Videos

Gameplay from Beta 2A

http://gorstagg.wordpress.com/

Hey all over on my website, http://gorstagg.wordpress.com/

I put up some videos of Beta 2A that I got to experience last night when I got up, and got to play some before running off to work.

Now that I've had some time to really get a good handle on the gameplay and Sovereign construction, I've got to say I'm still impressed. This has come a LONG way since Beta 2.

And is really starting to feel like the game that I'm anticipating in August, and that I'm seeing a shadow of right now. Is going to be legendary, and somewhat epic. I realize it's going to have some significant competition from Civ 5, coming out in September. And is also a TBS game. And as much as I love their pretty graphics. They all pale in comparison to what I'm expecting out of this game. Especially once our mod community get's to really drill down and delve deep into the game.

So though I'm actually having fun right now.. (dodges a Frogboy Fireball).. I really look forward to additional updates. Because this game really just got me wanting to come back and play one more turn.

So check out the site, drop by, say a few words if you're inclined, and feel free to post your own links there, so we can do some link backs, so that way our various personal circles however large they maybe, will also expand and get the word of Elemental out there to all!

I use a program called Fraps. It does a good job, and then you've got to get a video converting program to convert the videos you take. Right now, my videos run for about 7 or so minutes, and get to 3.90 gigs in size. As a massive .avi file.

Then I run a conversion program I picked up, I think it's Any converter or something like it. And then I convert that file into what you get today, another .avi file, but down to only 100 megs at the largest size.

I'm still experimenting with the program, to see if there is another way to adjust the video ratio's and thus the size of the video's. (I'll likely do some experimenting with that this weekend/Monday sometime.)

I still haven't picked up a good video editing program yet so I can merge the videos into 10 minute files yet. So for now, just working it as I go.

I hope that helps!

Yep, Beta 2A is a HUGE step forward. I was left pretty disappointed with Beta 2(it seemed bland and very unstable), but Beta 2A is a 180 degree flip for me. Its looking closer to the game we've been promised. Amazing amount of stability fixes , UI tweaks, and balance work. Hard to believe it improved this much in a week! I am officially having fun already.

I am absolutely _drooling_ for more features to start getting unlocked now. Can't even imagine how cool its gonna be with magic, tactical battles, custom factions, the adventure stuff, etc.

Beta 2, was a shell of 2A. Even though they bare a similar resemblance, and use the same numeral.

They packed in so much into 2A that it really was like a breath of fresh air.

And I too can't wait for 2B. And 2C and 3, and 4. And the final version.

I can totally believe the changes in a week.. just cause they are working off internal builds that are more complete than what were getting. So, as fewer problems crop up, it's easier for them to just really drill down onto the goals of that particular test.

But your right 100% Bobby about this being a HUGE step forward!

Cool, thanks.  I've used Fraps to drive my G15 keyboard.
