hehehe.... hold me back. hold me back!
Raven...this was really good, and funny. Good onya for livening the place up!
Thanks, Doc. You obviously got the point of the whole thing. I do try to liven the place up, as it were. Especially now with all the other BS I'm going through in my life, I need as many good laughs as I can get (even though actually laughing hurts like hell atm) .
Wow...erm...this voice... This guy[?] must be weird if you know what I mean.
LoL....Tormy. I see where you're coming from though. I knew some dude back in school that always seemed kinda off. Back then in Middle School and for some even in High School, we just didn't understand the complexities of being Gay. To the other kids those other ones always seemed a bit "off", which in my eyes was no fault of theirs. Other kids just didn't know how to deal with it.
There were two instances of this in my school. I went to school out in the completely redneck county of Lake County, Florida. There was this one guy, I honestly don't remember his name, but I thought he was a chick, just a really ugly chick. He wasn't, he was a dude. The odd thing was, no-one knew whether or not he was gay (even though we suspected it) nor would he admit to it. He hung out with nothing but girls though (most of the hottest chicks in school), and he even went in and out of the girls bathroom with no fuss or hysteria what-so-ever. Teachers didn't stop Him from going into the girls bathroom, and the girls in the bathroom didn't flip out when he went in.
I had two or three conversations with him throughout my years in Umatilla High School and he seemed alright to me, except that he sounded like a girl and had a lot of girlish manurisms. He and I got along fine. He wasn't one of my "close friends" or anything, I barely knew him, but even after talking to him I still got the feeling he was a little "off" but I couldn't understand why. In my eyes, if he was gay, why wouldn't he just come out and say so? He already acted gay and most every other guy in school already thought he was gay. Some people made fun of him, some didn't. The "Jocks" in school surprisingly Didn't make fun of him. Why? Because the guy was "BFF's" with ALL the super-hot chicks in school, and I mean ALL OF THEM. All the cheerleaders, flag-core girls, and all the preppy popular girls. He was "In Like Flynn" if you know the saying.
The other person in my school who was gay was a girl named Denise. She looked more like a boy then a girl. She dressed like a cowboy. Always wore cowboy boots and a hat and had the western button-down shirts and jackets with fringe. She kept her hair short like a boy. She was a lesbian and she didn't hide it and she was quite popular in my school. By our Senior year in High School she had a girlfriend who was also in our school, a junior, I don't remember her name. No one in my school made fun of her. She was popular with the rednecks and my school was a predominately "redneck" school and she had a big brother who looked like he could bench-press a small car, he also played Football (American Football, not Soccer). If anyone made fun of his "Sister" they got pounded until their face was the consistency of a fine black, blue, and red paste. So, no-one made fun of her for being gay.
What it boils down too though, is that as children many of us don't know how to handle being around gay people. Unfortunately, as we all know, kids can be incredibly cruel to one another. We humans, especially children, tend to fear what we do not understand, and as such we tend to react with violence or revulsion towards what we don't understand or to what frightens us.
Nick Pitera is a very talented 3d artist as well, currently working at Pixar.
Some Trebles maintain the ability to continue to sing falsetto through out their lives and are known as counter tenors and widely sought after in operatic circles, others like Aled Jones lose the ability and adapt to "what is perceived as a normal vocal range".
Now that kid can sing. I don't think there's anything unusual at all with a "boy" having a very high voice. It's quite common. So common in fact it was even on a episode of "The Simpsons". In this episode I'm referring too, Abe (Homers Dad) was remembering when Homer was a boy and singing in choir at Church. As a child Homer had a great singing voice. Abe was saying "That's my boy up there singing, he has a voice like an Angel" which he was saying to the person sitting next to him. Then Homers voice started to crack and change and his normal "Homer" voice started to come out while he was singing. Next thing you know, Homers singing career was over....LoL.
Nick Pitera is indeed quite talented. His ability to sing that well in a female voice is pretty astounding honestly. Still, there's a part of me (which I think is in all of us) that expects certain things to be the same, like the laws of physics. When we see something that is outside of our expectations, so "outside" of them that our brains have a hard time dealing with what we're seeing, some of us just can't handle it. It's too scary or confusing for us to wrap our heads around. To me, this is the case with Nick's singing. However, because I'm mature and comfortable in my own sexuality, I don't have a problem with gay people. I've had and could say I still have many friends that are gay. When I say the word "gay" I Do NOT mean it in a bad way or in a derogatory way. I don't have a problem with gay people and I think what two consenting adults do behind closed doors is THEIR BUSINESS and no concern of mine what-so-ever. I'm not a Homo-phobe, and I'm certainly not a gay-basher. I've personally stood up in defense of some gay people and once I even stopped some gay guy I didn't even know from being jumped and probably beaten to death by a gang of bikers.
Still, every once in a while I can't help but Laugh Out Loud when I see something so "outside the box" that it's really surprising. This video with Nick singing from the Little Mermaid was one of those cases. If I offended anyone, I apologize. I can't help thinking some things are funny. Yes, I know I have a twisted sense of humor. If that makes me an asshole or a duechbag then so-be-it. Fire your slings and arrows...I won't even try to dodge them. By all means, someone should stop me before I incite a riot!!!....
