According to DC area "blog" site DCRTV.com a replacement has been named for the commencement speaker engagement that had been slotted for anti-Israeli journalist Helen Thomas:

Schieffer To Replace Thomas At Grad Ceremony - 6/9 - CBS News DC veteran Bob Schieffer will replace longtime White House correspondent Helen Thomas as the commencement speaker at Sunday's graduation ceremony at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda. I'd call that making something a lot better than lemonade out of lemons.

Seriously, Schieffer is a class act.  Replacing bitter old *itch Helen Thomas is an upgrade in and of itself, but to have gotten Schieffer to come in is a great upgrade.
