Still being worked on at a slower pace, I kind of lost track on the direction I was headed with my original concept and turned it into almost a whole different idea... so I am trying to get it back more towards my first concept and save what has changed for a different blind.

This whole blind journey not only showed me how much work goes into one, but also the dedication and patience it takes.

So in between letting my hair grow back from pulling it out from working on my blind I do a little 3D modeling.

Uvah, this Blind I was working on.

Ah another blind artist in the making. ^_^ The WIP looks great.

3D modeling is easier. XD imo

I just checked out your WIP. It was back in February before I got my laptop. All I can say is ...... TOTALLY FREAKIN' AWESOME!! for a first? No way. You mastered WB on the sly. And BTW ...... this happened when I clicked on post reply. Kicked me right off.

I don't know what it is but I'm workin' on it.

Ho-Kay.....

First there was this aircraft cockpit panel.

Then I got alpha-blended glass fer the windows.

Of course ALL the gauges function as they are supposed to.

But then I just HAD to have them also 'function' in reverse....mirrored in the glass - real gauge goes clockwise....mirrored reflection goes anti....

Again I learned a few new things about XML.

Took a few hours to sort...particularly as in doing so I discovered the bought gauge [in the original plane] was actually WRONG, dnag it... really had me stuck for a while....;p

At this rate there'll be no difference between your image and the actual aircraft cockpit. Just out of curiosity ... are you planning on a simulator? Because it can easily pass for one.

Uvah...it is a flight simulator.

I knew that. o_O :P :w00t:

Some progress

Uvah....keep an eye on your light-source and shadows.... the square bit in the middle of the top and bottom graphics doesn't read well...;)

^What he said, but getting more interesting, Uvah. I like the gradients in the lower bar.

I have the gradient overlays all set at the same values. Does the size of the graphics make a difference?. Light source is 180 degrees. Highlight set to 30%, shadow to 40% (of the gradient overlay) opacity to 20% (of the bevel and emboss) Gradient is set to reflect and reversed. Top and bottom bars have the bevel and emboss set down rather than up. I can break down the psd and give you a better look.

re-did the gradient on the square bits. Something strange though. When I go to change the angle on the bevel and emboss the entire image changes not just the graphic bit.

now look at this one.

Uvah I dont use PS often but I believe you need to turn off global light setting,It is in the layer style panel! Right beside the 90degree setting in your bottom screen shot !

Then each effect is independent! ;)

Now he tells me.....

what he said.

Now he tells me......

Ditto...

ditto.......

Them gonna hit me ...... he he. Thanks. I didn't know that. All this time playing with it and the simplest things escape me.  I'm going back into the psd and do it all over. If I remember correctly the settings are a bit ... skewed. No wonder I'm goin' nuts. :w00t:

Uvah....if you copy/pasted a piece of the bar into the 'square bit' you'd see the gradiens/shadows would be different than how you have them...but they would then show as similar 3D shapes of curve, etc.

Or try it in reverse...copy/paste the gradient in the square bit into the main bar...and see its difference.

As they are they read as two quite different forms...yet you appear to be trying to have them the same.  Heck...they are almost trying to read as concave, not convex.
