Breaking Alliances

Well, I played and won my first large game yesterday, but not how I wanted to.  I wiped out every minor civ, built up a major assault force, and wiped out every civ, except for one.  I had an alliance with the Yor, and they didn't have an alliance with anyone else, and I couldn't break my alliance with them, and therefore, could not destroy them.  I tried placing as many influence starbases around them as possible, trade them stuff to buy off their planets, everything, and it didn't work!  How do I break alliances so that I can destroy them all?

Go to the 'Foreign Policy' screen, to the left below N-1's picture there is a checkbox "break alliance".

And yeah, the Yor are hard to culture-flip.

Wow, thanks, I'm going to go finish it the better way now.

Weird how things go.  I've often gotten "Culture" victories purely through conquest.  Generally once I take a homeworld, most of the space belonging to that enemy becomes mine.

Yeah, because it's the more influential planet due to the civ capital(the building who also give you 16 food instead of 8). So the "bubble" become yours, and then you can flip nearby planets without firing a shot.
