What About Fair Trials and Innocent Until Proven Guilty?

Let me first start out by saying I have no love for BP, and I’m not trying to defend any of their actions and such.  If any BP executive knowingly did anything to cause or neglect the oil spill situation then I hope charges will be brought if need be.   I strongly hope a fair and independent commission will investigate this disaster on both BP’s and the governments role in it.  Unfortunately, I don’t think fair will be involved as anything with dealing with the oil industry will be met with extreme bias.

However, what I have been seeing from the left has been nothing less than disgusting and hypocritical - two staples of liberalism.  Whether it has been on forums, or social networks like Twitter and Facebook, I have seen so many comments from people demanding BP execs be jailed without trial, and even executed.  I have seen so-called tech “celebrities” encouraging people to assault BP execs and even employees.  The real funny thing, looking back through their comments these people have falsely accused the Tea Party of violence, and condemned them for being “angry”.  Wow, what hypocrisy.

The real sad and pathetic part is these are people who stomp and cry for Constitutional rights for islamic terrorists, demand they have taxpayer funded public trials, and go out of their way to proclaim their innocence because they were captured on a battlefield.

This really shows the mentality of the left wing in this country.

When it comes to the Left the laws are applied depending on who is being accused of a crime. If they are terrorist, they deserve Miranda rights, if they are Liberal politicians (such as the whole Sestak issue) they should be ignored because "it happens all the time?", if it's a Big Corporation, screw the laws just lock them up.

Well the second post in ID's article mentions Glen Beck and BP, didn't know GB was drilling for oil. Now who could hate GN so much that they would lump him in with BP for execution? I wonder?

Also Becks show on FOX first aired in January 2009 and he "ruined" the Republic? But lets give Obama a chance, it's only been a year and a half. Do these folks think about what they write?

I guess you have a twitter and facebook page cause otherwise you would not know this if it were true.

You must know very little about these social media sites since they are used by major corporations as means to distribute information to employees and customers alike. But, what can be expected from a person with "infidel" for a forum name and using caps  and name calling to make a point (if this person ever had one anyways).

I always had the feeling that most U.S. media had an insufferable pro-U.S. and right-wing bias. Including the big television networks.

They took notice, it's just more convenient to redraw the definition of "taking notice" at your leisure to proove your point.

Ultimately, I asked: why do you claim the embarassing marginal liberal fringe represent the whole liberal mentality? There are nuts on our side. There are nuts on your side.

But I don't go around quoting Jack Chick or Phyllis Schlaflis or Fred Phelps and use these quotes to say that you are a band of nuts. Same thing for Timothy McVeigh. Or Terry Nichols.

You confuse reporting subject matter with reporting slants.  The news media is USA centric, but not even an honest liberal would even start to indicate they were conservative or right wing biased.  They do tend to ignore the rest of the world, but are very liberal biased in what reporting they do.

And as for the USA centric, look at it this way.  What does the local news report?  Local news and National news.  So my local news is different than your local news.

What do other countries news report?  USA news and their national news.  So what is the USA supposed to report?  USA news and national news, which is the same in the USA.

Maybe if the rest of the world started ignoring the US, the US news would have something more to report on.
