Black hole Mod?

I am assuming you are looking for a mod that adds in a black hole.

There is no stand alone mod, sorry.

But there are several mods (including Distant Stars) that have it in there, though for Distant Stars you have to add it in because the AI is very stupid about black holes.

lol what if you build a movable starbase (cough varsi) will it get sucked in? what about the stationary ones?

You will have to make one. There are no maps that have the black hole in them. And they do not spawn in the random maps.

Celestial Bodies by Tohklidan has a random spawn black hole. Quite impressive actually, though all it does is drain ship health when you are too close to it.

I thought about keeping it in Requiem, but keep memory usage down is important and while it looks good that's about all it adds to the gameplay.

yes, that is the mod we used as well JasonFJ, though we found that the AI could not handle the black hole very well so we pulled it out of the random circle and only use it manual (though I am curious if the new AI in Diplomacy does a better job at handling it)

sadly no, I tried it, it was fun to watch, scout Vs vasari fleet in a black hole, scout didn't move =D and it won lol, they crossed right through the middle and went boom. My scout kicked so much ass that day

<edit> sadly trade ships also had no fun in the black holes. only way AI or traders make it through is if the phase lanes are on one side and they do not require crossing NEAR the middle to cross it.
