Dungeons and dragons mod

Dungeons and dragons mod

i know that there are a few people on here thinking about doing mods based on various D&D modules and what not, but i would just like to see a monster pack with many of the various creatures that you can find in the monster manuals.  it would be killer if i could summon some beholders or something to go attack another player.  i am useless when it comes to modding, i think the only modding i have ever done was to create a level in duke nukem for multiplayer lol.

like to hear what the devs say about this game and how flexible the modding can be. Oh we can create our own troops, but can we create triggered events and change some rules? Can we create a RPG 8 player campaign with just heroes? Oh ya can we explore dungeons?

The answer is yes to all of your questions, but you will have to be good in Python coding in order to create an RPG type game using the Elemental enngine. :)

Hmm maybe as time goes by we can see how much of this game can relate to a D&D campaign.

Only thing im totally not sure of is i dont think we will be able to create city or cave to actually move around in.

Well whatever the case is, im sure this game unModed will be tons of fun

I am pretty sure that we will be able to create explorable cities even. Why not? All you need is a decent tileset. :)

I agree it should be possible for all I have read so far.

I am in Tormy's camp for a Greyhawk conversion.  Tormy, I am also stoked( ) that you were able to post something on Greyhawk.  I think Elemental in its basic beta phase already has many rpg and D&D qualities.  The cloth map mode, miniture figurines that represent adventurers or monsters, city/town development, character development stats like strength, wisdom, intelligence, etc.

The standard Elemental game is probably gonna be great(hopes).  We will all probably love playing that by itself for a while.  However, gonna be awfully hard to keep from using the map editior and other Elemental game assets for creating or developing all kinds of scenarios/settings/worlds right from the getgo.  Oh oh.  The map editor has me salivating and twitching already.

Thank you Stmorpheus for the post.

@Grove12345

Check out RPTools:

http://rptools.net/

Open source, completely free, and has a great community backing it up (not to mention playing RPGs with the tools). A decent amount of content is available for most RPG systems, the vast majority is free. Its also quite easy to customize and create new content, you could even code in a completely new RPG if you had the inclination.

Worth taking a look at, if you really want to play a PnP RPG online--my very first 4th Ed. D&D game was played partially using it!

So many worlds, so few modders....

I would love to see any mods from the D&D world, be it Greyhawke, Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft, Dragonlance, etc etc...

I'd love to see one based in Starside, home of the Wamphyri!  For those who don't know the Wamphyri are vampire lords from Brian Lumley's Necroscope novels.

I wonder how feasible it would be to break out of the fantasy genre and do a sci-fi or cyberpunk mod.  All it would need is a different tile set & units, correct?

I'd love a Forgotten Realms setting, you could even have the sovereigns be the avatars of the Gods after Ao cast them out. Can you imagine playing as Mystra, or Cyric, or Kelemvor?

I'm keen for the Forgotten Realms & Greyhawk campaign settings, but as the game is now, with the whole "purify/corrupt the barren earth" mechanic, Dark Sun would actually fit pretty nicely here.

Info about Dark Sun campaign setting here.

I would love to see a Forgotten Realms mod, just for the artwork! This would give people access to good dark-elf models :)
