Meet the Mets...

Apparently there's this team from New York that will be greeting the boys from D.C. tonite.  I'm sure Dr Guy is already counting the wins and licking his chops.  I hope he winds up lickin' his wounds, but I'm not counting on anything.

Big props to the A's pitcher (Dallas Braden if I got the name right) that notched a perfect game over the weekend.  Quite an accomplishment (only the 19th guy to do it).  I wish I could say I caught the game on my TV but I was watching other stuff and/or napping while it was happening so I missed out.  My son might have caught some of it as he tends to park his TV on the MLB Extra Innings gamemix channel.  Hard to know if he concentrated on that particular game, but still a very nice accomplishment for Braden that I'm sure A's fans were proud to have witnessed.

Keeping things short here today.  Not all that much that is on my mind to say.  I could perhaps pop over into the political area and spew forth a bit on Obama's apparent Supreme Court nominee, but I have to admit that I expect that nomination is basically a done deal.  Not enough of a trail to hurt herself with, and for the most part that one judgeship isn't going to change the makeup of the court that much.  It may swing it a bit more to the liberal side at times, but for the most part the court is still going to be a 5-4 split on most issues.

I guess I could rant a bit about where my concert tickets are.  I ordered a series of tickets (one package) where the first show is coming up in about 12 days now.  The people that promote the concerts and/or sell the tickets answered my "where are my tickets?" question with a note saying they'd be mailed about 3 weeks in advance of the first show.  Oh, really?  We're about 12 days out and I don't have tickets in hand.  If I don't have them in the next 2 - 3 days I'll be reading them the riot act as I really want to catch the first show.

Similarly, I'm waiting on a refund for tickets for a show that was cancelled.  The news on that one had said that the refunds would be done during the last week.  Again, oh, really?!?  Not yet.  If that doesn't come through soon I'll be protesting the charges with the credit card company so I can get the charges reversed since the company isn't entitled to be earning interest on my money if they aren't going to hold the concert that they originally sold me tickets for.
