File Transer Help

OK I originally downloaded the Elemental Beta on a laptop while I didn't have my computer was away. Now I have it back and I was wondering whether it would be possible to move the files from the laptop to my desktop through a shared drive. I tried doing so, but I couldn't find the install files. Any ideas?

Thanks! :)

I don't have Impulse installed on the PC where I am now, but there should be an option somewhere to archive a game. If you do that on the laptop, you could transfer that archive to the desktop PC and have Impulse restore that archive.

Hope this helps...

Yep that should work. Start Impulse -> Select EWoM in /My Games -> Right Click on it -> Archive Application

Umm when I tried this, it didn't seem to specify where the archived file was to be saved. Any idea where?

Yeah, that's been a complaint of mine. I believe there's an option in Impulse' preferences to set the location for archives, which will at least tell you where it's going.

Yep. Preferences/Folders - Archive File Location [Default dir is: C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Impulse\backup on Vista]

I know when I tried this method, it didn't work for Dragon Age origins when the two machines didn't have the same operating system. I'm not sure if that will be the case here, but keep it in mind if something goes wrong.
