I could use some reverse jinxing... maybe I should say...
... they stink again ;-)
Well, not me so much for who needs the reverse jinxing... The reverse jinxing is needed by the group I wouldn't name last night. Since they seem to be in Hyde mode tonite (or at least their pitching is...) I don't mind calling them the stinky team they are today: da Nats. 4 runs for them isn't too shabby. 6 for their opposition isn't too cool though ![]()
Back here again today. Still working on that self discipline stuff. Trying to hold myself to a routine. Soon enough I'm hoping to do the same in the physical fitness area. It's been years since I was last working out on a regular basis. Well, never really working out, more jogging and enjoying some distance running (10 milers were my favorite). Plodding speed, but still fun for me and at the time I was doing it regularly it was helping to keep me in reasonable shape.
Currently I admit to being about 40 pounds heavier than I should be. I say admit to, but I'm not fudging the numbers or anything. I should be around 180 - 190 but instead am around 230 - 240. If I get out and exercise some, I can normally drop 5 - 10 pounds pretty quickly and easily. After that it becomes a case of burning off more calories than I'm consuming on a regular basis and that means I need to work out for about 90 minutes each day. 90 minutes of elevating my heart rate. Brisk walk, slow jog, whatever.
A co-worker and I are talking about doing a buddy system for the fitness facility at my work. We both are bigger than we should be (he more than me), and if we could get on a regular cycle of working out, it would help us both quite a bit. We'd still need to cut back on food intake, but at least if we exercise some we'd be burning off more of the calories we do take in. I'm hoping to get started on all of this in the next few weeks. The cost (since it's at facilities at my employment site) are really reasonable so I really don't have an excuse.
I may have mentioned TV watching a little in those last few articles. If not, apologies for saying here that I did there. Either way, I've been catching up on Justified from FX networks. Based on an Elmore Leonard short story. Starring Timothy Olyphant. EXCELLENT show. I still have 2 episodes that I've not yet watched, saved on my DVR. I'm looking forward to watching those through the weekend, but of course have been giving primary attention to baseball lately.
Speaking of that... am planning on going to the park on Friday. It's a giveaway day. Free soft bag coolers. I've already got a couple of those here in the house, but I can't pass up free. If I can't use it, I'll definitely give it away to someone that can.
Hmmm, that hints at a future article, but I'll wait just a little longer for that discussion. Check back later and I'll definitely explain and expound on same.
