My Awesome New-ish Hobby

I have never been much of a hobbies-having person.  I was brought up in a very achievement-based household, so hobbies were not really encouraged.  Not to say that my parents wouldn't have let me have one, I think that they would have, it's just that they never introduced the idea of hobbies to me.  They had me involved in A LOT of sports and activities, which was awesome and fun. 

I think that because of that upbringing I've always looked at reading as a hobby.  I never had time for reading, unless I was forced to do it for school.  Most of the time, whenever I was started reading I would just fall asleep lol.  However, when I got to college and I was introduced to English courses where the professors made me read really interesting and awesome books, my opinion changed.  It sparked a love of reading for me.

Even though I started to love reading, I still was not really able to read leisurely.  Then I graduated college, and I instantly got into reading as a hobby.  I went to my sister, who had always been hooked on reading, and asked her to suggest some books to me.  She had me read Eragon, and it was amazing.  Since then I've been reading like a crazy person.  I'm totally addicted to it.  I even bought a Kindle so that I could read more easily and more often.  I love that reading gives me the opportunity to learn about everything I didn't know about before, like embroidered baby blankets, these, and Dermablend.  It's so great, and I suggest it to you to take on as a hobby.  Just do it!
