[0.302][Bug/Gameplay] Buildings disappear when upgrading

When my city upgraded to level 3 the town halls mysteriously got deleted. An event notice appeared saying town halls were completed which was odd.

Also shortly after that I R&D Housing tech and all of my huts in the city vanished. There was a ton of Housing complete event notes but yet no housing in the town.

Next another city leveled up and it's huts vanished and not replaced by housing.

You reported a similar problem in this thread.  But there, at least for me, it was happening only when a town hit 500 population.  Now in .302 it's gotten worse, as you say.  My town just hit 150 population, all the huts disappeared, and the population is now 20.  I had researched housing, so the huts should have upgraded to houses.

Yea I reported similar bug back in 0.3 build. Seems it's still there and like you said it's gotten worst as I never had my town halls disappear before.

If I remember correctly from the .302 change log, town halls were changed so that they required a certain size town before you could build them.  If all your huts disappear, and the population drops to 20, maybe it has dropped below the level at which a town hall is allowed.

Another symptom - my town leveled up to 150 population and my 2 studies disappeared.  Below 150, I had the 2 studies but the library did not appear on the build list. At 150, the studies disappeared and the libraries became available on the build list.

Cities don't de-level and have no penalty for dropping below population.

Yea but city level remains. Number of usable spaces remain. And population amount remains unless it was houses that vanished in which case it only drops if population was at cap.

There was a bug before when cities leveled up they would drop some population right after level even if they had plenty of room. That seems to have been fixed in 0.302 as city pop is what you'd expect for a city that just leveled up. Plus buildings only disappear when town levels up or new R&D. Haven't gotten them to vanish any other times even when I recruit the whole city into the army.

On a side note you can build town halls in level 2 cities and not just "towns". Guess I should add that to the bug report. But it's a good thing you can cause it would take forever to reach 250 population needed without the town hall's prestige bonus now that leveling up the city doesn't give a natural prestige boost.

I also had all houses disappear when my Havn city achieved lvl4, pop dropped from 500 to 20, city remained lvl4.

In 1Z4, version 0.32, I got the housing tech and my huts leveled up to houses without disappearing.  So this might be fixed in 0.32.
