Ok now that we are out of beta, please try and post any bugs you are finding here.  I will be monitoring this thread and trying to fix/troubleshoot whatever is posted.

If you use Firefox jazzymjr you can right click on the button and do a save as. That function does not work in Internet Explorer though, and I don't think it has anything to do with the way WinCustomize is set up, I think it is just IE itself that is the problem.

That is strange, I have always been able to do a right click "save as" until I started using the new site (When I had no choice but to use it).  And I have IE 8 with Windows 7.  The last file I downloaded (prior to today) was on 4-19-10...a windowblind.

BUMP...can anyone answer this?

Guess I should have checked another site in IE8 jazzymjr, you're right, it works on other sites, just not here at the new WC.  :|

Thanks Lightstar for verifying for me that this is a bug with the site, not IE!

Now, if we could just get someone from Stardock to see this and address the issue...that would be nice.

This being a weekend, you will have to wait until Monday morning for Stardock to 'see this'.

That is all well and good, Hankers, but my original post on this was on Wednesday, May 19, Post #324.  And no one from Stardock replied.

Ya could send support an email that way you will know they get it.

That is fine and dandy Hankers, but the point is what the public sees on WC should be more important right now than the internal workings and projects at Stardock.  Without the public being 'appeased' so to speak there could/would be no Stardock, and I imagine the state of the site right now is definitely not good for business.  One would think that getting the site perfect first would be a higher priority IMO.  ;)

Okay...this is getting ridiculous!  I posted my issue back on May 19, and it is now June1, with no response from Kestral or whoever is supposed to be monitoring this thread for issues.

Is anyone ever going to acknowledge my issue and at least let me know if this issue is going to be fixed or not?

I don't know if this will be fixed for IE, it's not really a priority issue considering other things that we are working on.  You can save the skins with IE by setting the browser to download files to a certain location and not automatically open them.

Alternatively, Firefox and Chrome "save as" works fine.

I DO have IE set to save all downloads to a specific folder, but that does not work with windowblinds...they get automatically installed, leaving me without a wba file to check to make sure nothing is being downloaded with the file.  And that leaves me open to the possibility of getting viruses, malware, etc.

Well, at least I have an answer to my question....IE is not gonna have the save as option any more.  I'm not a happy camper, but I guess I just have to deal with it.  I guess if I want to download a blind, I will have to contact the author and see if he/she has the blind uploaded to another site where I can download it from, since the "save as" option works in IE on all other sites but this one.

Doesn't CTRL + Click work on IE ? Also I have 'Open, Save, Cancel' when I click on the button. IE8 + Win 7.

Nope, does not work in IE8 on Windows XP.

Security settings in IE would need to be adjusted.

Sorry Spencer, but that made no difference at all changing the settings.  When you right click on the Download button in IE8 in any OS, there should be an option to save to disk rather than automatically download and install the .wba file, and there is not.  :(

ID,  I checked my security settings in the Internet Zone, and I already had those exact same settings as you have in your screenie.....so, as LightStar said, those settings don't make any difference.

I agree. The site is supposed to fully and primarily (amid protests from other browser users) support IE, now you are telling us we need a different browser if we want all the functionality of the old site.

Am I the only one that is confused here?

So you think there may be viruses in .wba files that you download from this site? Geesh :S

Yes, it has happened a couple of times to me.  So, when I discovered I could do a "Save As" about 3 years ago, that is how I have downloaded everything...and have never gotten a thing again!

Ok then.......I just kinda assume that these things are checked out by moderators. Never thought of it before, really

.....but you know what happens when one assumes........... O:)

Don't know if this is an option you guys would consider, but I use Speedbits free download accelerator and it always gives me the option to "save" then I can scan with Avast before openning. It works for all downloads from here.:meow:

WindowBlinds downloads are always downloaded and checked.
