Yeah, it does look a bit rude, doesn't it. 
I suppose I should explain my thinking on that one....
My grandmother took to knitting a lot more in her latter years... and not everything came out according to the pattern. For example, when my younger brother was born she knitted stuffed toy rabbit for him... and it had six legs. And another time, she knitted my mother a roll-neck sweater for Winter and ended up doing three arms, and the roll-neck would've fitted a giraffe... seriously.
Flip-flops are fine; so is a mini shoulder bag. After all, you have to have somewhere to put your money, car keys etc
^ yep, a bag to put small shoulders in. an absolute must, these days.
