Broken threads
Found two threads that i can't read using IE. Both are made by the user strager, and in both i can't read anything beyond the thread title.

Probably used Word. Tell him to use notepad...Jafo tires of stripping HTML from posts. ![]()
You can use FF (or most any other browser) to read them in the meantime. But yeah MSWord is notorious for posting bad html that IE chokes on.
Fixed...;)
Ain't that the truth.
Pages of extraneous effluvium...;)

Thanks for the quick fix ![]()
I suppose i should install FF or some other browser, but i'm just so used to using IE that i don't feel like going through the hassle of learning how to use a new brower (although im sure it would be quite easy). Besides, no-one has ever given me a convincing enough arguement why i should switch to FF or something beyond "it's just better" or "it has all these great features" that i wouldn't really use...
The most commonly-used browser will still be IE ...so it is important that the threads are NOT broken for IE, irrespective of whether they show OK in FF, Opera, Chrome or not.
Personally, I'd rather the thread/comment posting FAILED UPLOAD due to extraneous html rather than Admins having to correct it AFTER the fact.
....not to mention the special feature.....after the third time you do it a hand reaches out from inside your monitor and clips you upside your head for being annoying.....;)
Alright that picture is just awesome, saved to e-mail to freinds and family
Just for the record, I find that ff is slightly faster than ie, and it does get round the problem of ie throwing a strop when a thread has a copy and pasted word document in it.
The forum update I'm about to push will resolve this problem for good, so no more "broken in IE" topics.

Great, looking forward to it Bara!
Edit: Oh dear, i see i forgot to give Jafo some well deserved karma, this has been rectified![]()
Forum update is pushed. It doesn't fix previously broken posts, but it does prevent it from happening in the future. If, for some reason, it does happen again, be sure to let me know and I'll dig deeper for a different solution.

Does copy \ paste etc in FF not work in the new forum either? ![]()
I don't see why it wouldn't. I just tested it and it's ok. Where are you pasting from?
EDIT: Someone explained it to me. This is a security problem with Firefox, not the forums. Unfortunately I don't think there's a way around it, as it's a client-side setting (that is to say, you have to change it on your side of things if you really want it to work).

Fear not....I'll let you know....
/me goes off to find a powered megaphone....;)
