[qote]not sure i follow that?  it still opens the libraries with everything contained in it, just as windows does.[quote]

True as you say!  Just would be nice when using the add shorcut feature in the program if there was someway to point it to the libraries.

Haven't seen this posted so...Will the UI be skinned by WindowBlinds on the release version? An option to disable the default skin (as in Impulse) would be great.

I'm still getting a "feel" for OD2 but the above aside it sure looks much better.

Quoting Gizmo15, reply 109So far I really like 2.0.  I'd like to see the My Document, My Videos, etc folders point to the Libraries in Windows 7 instead of the Users folders.  Also, it would be great if OD would be able to do the preview windows like the Win7 taskbar.  If so, I'm sure a lot of people would hide the Windows taskbar altogether.
u can drag the library folders to the OD bar, or is it something else you are actually trying to do?  i just went to libraries, and dragged my libraries documents folder to it, seems to work

Thanks, I'll try that when I get home.

no options to use icons under 32 pixels, When i first installed OD 2 my tabbed docks size were described as tiny. as soon as i looked at the size options the icon size changed to 32 pixels and wouldn't allow me to change back to the way they were. also i get the + and - in my docks regardless of size of contents. So far not really impressed with OD 2. Yes it has reflections and blur but a lot of options are just not there anymore. This is more of a downgrade than an upgrade i am sorry to say. Hopefully this will be sorted as the beta continues.

Is there a particular place we can post wishlist items?

1. Next to your Xmas socking? ;)

2. Start a "Make An OD+3 Wish" thread.

3. The old (best) way: "Bribe a Mod (make the checks payable to Jafo)" or "Beer and Pizza for Jeff" thread.

Possible bug: Running Windows 7 Home Premium x64, the Recycle Bin docklet will not switch back to the empty state icon when emptying the bin. This happens with both the default icons and when the icons are customized. The docklet will go from empty to full icon states but not back when emptied.

I can also confirm that none of the custom plus/minus images are working. :\

^correct. Same here.

4. Icons created by Steam will only show the Steam icon not the games icon (did this in old version also) If you add thme to a dock the all look the same.

Since games are run by starting steam, they always show the Steam icons as default.  I had to go in and change the icons by right clicking, edit icon, and changing the icon to the one in the related directory for the game in the steam\steamapps directory. Also some very nice icon collections here for many games old and new.  (Not sure if there is a way to fix this, since games under steam are run using steam.exe -####### where the ### is some numbering system for each game created by Valve.)

I know i can do it manually but its a pain man! :-)

Desktop icons that Steam creates are just like normal and point to the proper icon although the icon target is in the properties under icon are not in the target directory luanching exe.

Maybe a little bit of added code could extract it if the target directory is Steam or the app is Steam.exe. as it is now when I drag those to OD they turn to Steam icons.

If Steam.exe

      get icon path,

done. :-)

Thanks for listening

That and the start menu needs to be where it always is.

Never mind I found the option to move  the task bar to the left:grin:

That's great!  Too bad reformatting isn't really a practical option for me, but I'm glad it's working well for you.  Just wish I knew what was causing the problem for me.

Running on Win7 x64 Home Premium, Intel E8400 CPU, ATI HD4890 gfx card.

+1 for the Steam system tray icon not functioning correctly wrt right clicking or left clicking to restore.

Windows update icon does not display in the system tray at all even when configured to do so. Actually this appears to relate to all Windows based system tray icons. Network, volume control etc.

System tray icons do not respond reliably to a mouseover.

Startup performance is appalling - I though 1.9 was slow but 2.0 takes even longer to start.

The "Accessibility" setting of "Keep on Bottom" actually keeps the dock on *top* - possibly because I have a second dock at the top of the screen set to that value. FWIW the "Always on Top" option for this second dock does not always function correctly - but then it did not function reliably in 1.9 either.

Also when i create a new dock i cant move it to my secondary monitor.....i click "monitor 2" and nothing happens.......this is annoying

it's now running great, but the minimize animation no longer works to object dock

6 pages so far...someone may have already reported this.....

Windows 7 x64 Dual Monitor setup

the "Position > Change Monitor" does not work for either tabbed or zoomers. I can drag tabbed docks to the secondary monitor but not zoomers.

Ghost mode is excellent, thanks

Terminating both Anvir Task Manager Pro and Logitech Setpoint make OD2+ run much more smoothly on my quad-core Dell M6400 system--still not quite like butter, but much better.  Too bad Task Manager Pro is a very useful, always-on utility.  Not sure I'm willing to give it up. :(  It'd certainly be better if their quasi-incompatibility could be resolved peacefully rather than by one winning and the other losing.

I just noticed something very interesting. I have my tabbed dock set as a drawer right on top of my taskbar. When I hover over the taskbar in a spot where an icon would be (if the dock had been brought up), I'm seeing the label for the icon. You can't see it, but my mouse cursor was just to the right of the selected taskbar button, underneath the Tools tab.

And here you can see the dock brought up, and the actual icon.

Don't think I ever noticed this before on OD 1.9.

You can't see it, but my mouse cursor was just to the right of the selected taskbar button, underneath the Tools tab.

I noticed this effect also.

I am running Windows7 (64bit) on intel quad-core (8200), 6GB ram, Geforce 9600GSO video card.

Just got this computer about a week ago, wiped the HD, and installed everything fresh.

First, my +/- icons in my tabbed dock are working just fine, and I just tested the recycle bin, and empty/full icons work as they should.

OK, here is my take on things... I can't comment on everything (like dual-monitor issues), but here's what I like and don't like:

--Love the shiny new tidbits.. Like the new settings window, reflections, and tab-dragging.

--At least for me, the animation of the zoomer dock is smoother than OD-1.9 (and I thought it was smooth before)

Thats about everything that I like and feel was an improvement over 1.9. Now for the not-so-good stuff:

--Startup performance is not so good... With a significant upgrade to my system, I thought it would be better... It's at least as slow, if not worse.

--Blur behind setting doesn't work for me... Anything behind a dock that has transparency does not blur at all.

--Mouse-over issue with hidden tabbed dock along taskbar... (As mentioned at the top of my post

--Items that I feel should be included in the settings window, but aren't: Change running indicators, adjust reflections(size, position, transparency), and kinda goes along with the reflections - icon offset. (I had to edit the config.ini file to make these adjustments))

--Two things that I have wanted since Object Dock first came out: 1.) Ability to adjust icon spacing (I just want to move the icons a little more apart)  2.) Ability to adjust "Attention" effect... I only use "glow" because I think the other effects are a bit too wild (for example: I would like to change the # of times it rocks, bounces, spins & change the speed that it is animated)

Well, thats it... I really do like the 2.0 update, just hope Stardock addresses some of these.

Really disappointing that the 'browse for icon image' dialog hasn't been touched at all. I was hoping we would be able to add in our own libraries (does *anyone* actually store icons in the OD library? I know I don't). Seems kind of useless having it point there if no one stores their icons there to begin with.

well, back on my performance issues, back to running like crap, what seems like 5 FPS now that i've added more icons and whatnot, getting kind of a pain in the butt, but it is beta so we'll see.

wondering when we'll get some stardock feedback, and when we'll get a upcoming feature list, would like to know whether or not it's going to be able to compete with other docks out there

Am having the same problem with the new 2.0 beta version.  It worked fine before.  I currently have two other docks on my second monitor, but I can't add a new one.

This product is excelent I really like it.  Thanks.
