Hi, i just bought OD plus v2, I'm on win 7 64bit. Could someone tell me how could i change the size of my tabbed Dock?

There's an option to change the size, but it only change the size of the icon and the tabs, i can resize the dock itself, its getting annoying since i have lots of shortcut to put in the dock and the size of the dock is pretty small. I don't like pressing the plus or minus button everytime i'm trying to find a specific application that i want to run.

Just go to the edges of the dock, wait until the double sided arrow cursor appears  and drag. ;-)

I have got some troubles with Google Apps.

I have created Gmail Apps & Google Calendar Apps (Offline Apps running on Chrome), more information here:

http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95710

I have dragged the created icons into the dock, but when I open it, it shown the icon of Chrome (not Gmail or Calendar Icon). In addition, when the Gmail Apps opened, I cannot open chrome to browse websites anymore.

Please support Google Apps for Chrome with ObjectDocks. That would be a great features.

Furthermore, If the icon on dock can show how many new email or events, that so great!

Thanks,

hothandao, since Google apps are web based, any dock icon for them will just point to the internet.

Do this: Right-click on the shortcut, say, for your gmail, then choose "edit icon." Paste the url for your gmail into the "Arguments" field.

That should care for it.

Oh cool , thanks for the help. I've locked my dock position so i won't move it by mistake, and this too sadly made me unable to resize the dock. Should've figured that one out myself, thanks again =)

If just follow your instruction, I cannot get Offline Gmail & Calendar to work. Please see the video to know the apps.

My suggestions are both keep the icon of Gmail & Calendar, available to open Chrome after opening them as well as display notification (number of new Email & Calendar events) with the icon.

Thanks,

When (windows) explorer.exe is dragged to the zoomer dock it only works once. After it is closed you can click on it multiple times and it will not open again.

Shift + Left Click will open it again.

Right clicking the icon and selecting - Open 'explorer.exe - Shortcut' will also open it

You can close ObjectDock 2.0 and re-open it and repeat the above steps with the same results.

Here's some feedback for the new v1.98 update:

1. Window thumbnails work much better.

2. I like having the Aero peek functionality.

3. I wish system tray icons in a dock, when clicked on, would behave the same way they would in the taskbar. ie- the volume icon. In W7, when you click on the volume icon in the taskbar, the volume slider pops up. When you click on the volume icon in the sys tray dock, nothing happens. You have to right click, and then you get other options, but not the normal functionality.

4. Idea: The start menu is still borky. I can live without the start menu, since I find everything else through my docks. However, one thing I love is the start menu search. There is already a docklet for web search, and I am wondering if a docklet can be developed to bring the start menu search to the dock?

5. How about a shut down menu docklet?

All-in-all, this is a very good update. Good job, Jeff!

OD won't allow me to add a weather docklet into a flyout menu.

When trying to add a configure dock docklet to a flyout, I get two different occurances:

1. The "New 'Configure Dock' Entry" option (toward the top of the 'add' menu) adds a shortcut with a blank icon into the flyout. Clicking on this shortcut in the flyout causes my dock to crash and my computer to hang.

2. The "Configure ObjectDock" option (toward the bottom of the 'add' menu) adds a new blank shortcut with the ? icon, and it does not actually go to the configure dock screen.

2) How do you save your current docks, and load saved docks?
I'm sorry I ever bought this..My mom uses it but as is I'm going to stick with old version.. What good is it if you can't save your theme? That's really kind of dumb, here and I thought you guys were very smart, oh well..

Ok dude dont insult other people intelligences before you check your own, i mean did you ever consider jeez idk, moving the theme folder into the object dock 2 theme folder, like you did with the first 1? sure as of now there isnt away to save (also keep in mind that this is still in beta) your dock profile, but how hard was it to setup in the first place? if your answer to this question is very hard, then you really really really shouldnt be insulting anyone for creating something you yourself wouldn't even know where to begin (i assume your not an software engineer)

When is the "retail" or "full" (not a beta) release date of ObjectDock 2 Plus?

There is no release date at this time.

How do you save your current docks, and load saved docks?

Though the backup/restore options have not yet made it into the user interface, this can still be done. Simply backup the following directory (zip it and move it somewhere else):

Vista/7: C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus

XP:       C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\ObjectDockPlus

To restore the settings that you saved, simply extract the zipped contents back to the directory.

This is a beta. Please keep in mind that ObjectDock v2 likely will not be feature complete until the final release. If bugs, crashes or missing features bother you, I'd simply recommend staying with the old version until ObjectDock v2 is completed.

I wrote the below in the Support -OD forum a few days ago with no reply. I know what beta means and am not one to complain however I have a problem I never had till I updated to the last od update about 1 week or 2 ago. All I was trying to find out is if someone may know what could be wrong as I use word often and now have to leave a separate icon on my desktop all be itself.

Here is what I wrote a few days ago.

When I boot the computer the link on OD works fine the first time. After I close it and try to open it again from OD it will not open and in order to get it working I have to close OD or reboot the computer and than it will only open once again. I usually just go to Add-Shortcut-Document Editor Shortcut. I have also placed an icon on my desktop and dragged it to the dock. Makes no difference as it will still only work once. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There was one suggestion actually and that was to drag the exe from the program folder to the dock. Same results as I can use it once than can't use it again unless I reboot or make another short cut each time. This is the only program that does that and it never did it before the update.

Thanks.

Which application and version of Windows?

I think OD2 should be release as finale skip beta 2 I have been running it since day 1 and it is rock solid. There errors listed in Windows log but program has never once crash and I use it every day.

Unless you plan to add features to make it more bloated I would add a backup theme option and release. I like the slim less feature OD.

I just download a update today and I don't see any new stuff so what's in the update for OD2?

Bug (on both the new update and the previous version): When using a mostly clear dock background and then enabling the blur, it seems to be pulling whatever custom color is set in the personalization settings of 7/colorize section of WB (think it's from 7 though). I have to switch to Aero (from using a WB skin), unset any custom color (if there was one) then switch back to my WB to reset the color (so that there is none in the background).

Blah, in testing this out (and also re-confirming the font bug in WB) even after resetting the custom color on Aero to none, it still seems to be pulling a color from somewhere, must be from WB (I've recolored Lantana to pink, so my blurred dock has a pink tint to it).

I think categories (ala Dell Dock) should be added. Oh yeah. :dur:

I have some weird problems with minimizing and restoring to a running program tray. I have this issue with Windows Media Player and VLC. When minimizing them, they slowly minimize to the tray - taking almost two seconds - you can just watch the open windows shrink slowly to the bar. On restoring, basically the same thing a slow return to the original size, however after the slow  restore completes, Windows Media Player will essentially restore again at the correct speed (it sort of does a quick blink. These are the only two applications so far that have this problem.
