Rules to [NOT] live by...

In this thread the goal is to list rules which people live by, in practice, which tend to stink for everyone else.

Examples:

If someone offends you in real life, go complain about it to everyone except for them.

If someone offends you on the internet, go harass and troll them until moderators intervene.

If you are an employer and one of the people who work offends you in some minor way, just fire them.

If you hear a coworker say something that would offend a manager, remember it so you can tattle when this coworker offends you.

When on a freeway, follow the car in front of you as close as you possibly can.

When visiting a store, be sure to speak at length with the cashier - and don't be fooled by their looks of disinterest; they want to hear about every aspect of your life.

Be sure to praise the women in your work area; nothing says 'Good job!' like a firm pat on the behind!

Never brush your teeth - personal hygene is for women and homosexuals!

Save time and water by not flushing public toilets. Ever.

Cinemas are a great place to meet new people! Be sure to sit next to people you don't know and strike up a conversation. Pro tip: use your pet cat's funniest moments as an 'ice breaker'.

If someone rings your mobile phone when you are on a bus or other form of public transport, always talk as loud as you possibly can about very personal matters. If the subject is sexual or involves your mental health issues, even better.

Don't forget to flash your lights and honk your horn while doing so, when they are boxed in by traffic so they cannot move over and flip you off.

Corollary: Always check on what your friends are doing on your cell phone while in said cinema.  Texting is not noisy, right?  WHo cares if the light of the phone is blinding those behind you.

My old boss lived by that mantra.

If you know you're going to miss something that you promised to go to, don't tell them. It's OK if you yell surprise.
