Is this a MyColors theme that you are using, or a stand alone widget?
it is a my color theme
I'm not a user of MyColors, so I'm not going to be much help. In theory, it should work with your operating system, and the weather widget should function properly. Some of the older DX widgets will not work anymore due to feed problems, but MyColors themes use a different provider, so it should work.
If it was me, I would first try to uninstall it, and reinstall it. When that doesn't work, I use something like CCleaner, select the registry button, and clean the remains after uninstalling it again. If it still doesn't work, I go to Revo Uninstaller, which has a decent free version, and go to Advanced, and carefully select the bolded items. These will be most of the deeply buried registry items. That often works.
The next step would be to contact Stardock Support at [email protected]
Try to give them the exact message you get. I'm sorry that I can't help more, but I can this--it ought to work.
Try following this link in Internet Explorer (Firefox and other browsers do no handle the file type correctly):
32 bit: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/install_weather.bat
64 bit: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/install_weather_64.bat
save the file and run it from your machine (right click and run as administrator for Vista) and follow it's instructions. This should resolve the issue.
Yes indeed, this worked like a charm for me. Thanks!!!!
One note: In the 64 bit version there are two "Program Files" folders, one is Program Files (x86) and the other is Program Files.
You may need (at least I did) to create a folder because it did not exist and you need it to copy the file there. So you will need both folders:
\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Stardock\ <---- folder already exists
\Program Files\Common Files\Stardock\ <---- needed to create on my machine
