always the same image

Hello. I use Logon XP. I've noticed that I always get the same image every time I turn on my computer. I have all of the default images plus I have downloaded several images as well. How do I make Logon XP display images randomly from my collection? Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

You do get the same image each time unless you change it. I don't think LogonXP has a random setting. I could be wrong, XP is a dinosaur and I haven't been there in a while.

Random setting is under Options.

Thank you for the comments. I had an earlier version of logonXP. It changed my log on screen every time I booted up. Ever since I updated to a newer version I only get one picture. Unless I do as RedneckDude suggested... manually select an image. That seems to defeat the whole purpose of the program.

BTW,,, where are the option settings? I use the free version. Again thank you for your comments.

Ever since I updated to a newer version

LogonStudioXP has not been in development for a few years now, have you maybe installed LogonStudioVista, which is now at version 1.7 and now works on XP.

If xp version 1.0.64 options is on left pane on config window, if Vista version, there is no option for random.

You are exactly right Cavan1. I have logonStudioVista. Maybe I need to start at the beginning to describe my problem. I had LogonStudioXP installed and running on my XP system. It worked OK and changed my logon screen randomly. I wanted to speed up my boot up time and eliminate some items from my starup. I was unable to find LogonStudioXP's startup in my startup manager so I decided to uninstall it. I chose the automatic uninstall and thought all was good. Until I rebooted. Much to my surprise LogonStudioXP still started and  ran. I'm still not sure how it started after an uninstall. After that I could not start the program or try another uninstall as those short cuts were removed during the first uninstall attempt. I downloaded the program and reinstalled. Even though it was clearly marked as LogonStudioXP, it was actually LogonStudioVista.

I now have downloaded LogonStudioXP version 1.01. My questions are now do I need to uninstall the version I have now or just install over top of it. I am not impressed with the uninstall routine. I mean I love some of Stardock's programs but the knock is they are hard to get rid of. I can see that is true.

I greatly appreciate all of the comments and suggestions I have gotten here. If nothing else I can serve as a role model for what not to do using these programs.

Thank You.

Sounds like you did not set it back to default MS logon first, when not done logon in use is still stored in your system and used.

My questions are now do I need to uninstall the version I have now or just install over top of it.

Since you want the XP version for random logons then yes uninstall Vista version, set it to default MS logon first.
