Creating an unspoken regulus rule

Creating an unspoken regulus rule

I'm not sure where you stand, but I'm sick... SICK of low skill, regulus players jumping in a game, pulling the old "instantly pick reg and hit ready".  As a joke, sometimes there will be 3 regs already, but some jackass will still do this.  Politely asking for a tougher DG always, always results in "what's wrong with reg?  I'm pretty good with him.. (on high gold, high towers, and the opposition is AFK)".

I'm going to start putting "No REG" in the title of my games, with the idea being that if your other teammates agree, you can pick regulus AFTER asking them and getting full agreement.  Or if your a known "I rock with regulus" player.

REGULUS CAN BE GREAT.  Pre-empting the: What's wrong with regulus?! posts.  Yes, he can be great.  No, I haven't seen the 5 people that are great with him in a game for ages.

Maybe we can get this going around, which would help out the newer, unsure players. Letting newer players hide from combat by picking and playing a weak regulus is only making them lose more, and they're not learning how the game works.  I would encourage them to pick a tough DG with a simple, easy build, so they can make headway into the game.  Learning HP vs Armor, speed vs traps, stuns, etc. What items are good, which are excessive.

Attitudes such as the OP's and those shared here is why, for me personally, and a few others i know, are the main reasons we gave up playing DG. And i assume for many others as well...

Since when did the Demiverse become a dictatorship???? If there are multi's in lobby then fine, ask them to change or kick if you have to....

But not allowing someone to play as a character they want...or on random (if agreed by all) is a step too far for me in a "game"...To those who agree with and to the OP..your opinins are yours of course but with such a small community already, where is the logic in restricting those who can join your games. No wonder the amount of DG games on Gameranger outnumber the official ones most times....

Play...just play.

(This is why stats should never have been includeed in this game)

I started back in like...November campaigning for TB. I like to feel I did him justice. When I started, every time there was a TB, someone would bitch to high heaven. I would get PMs asking me to be someone else. Hell, he even got trashed on the forums.

Now I hardly see any bitching about him. I'm not saying I swayed everything, but I tried all I could to do my part :D

<3 you TB if you're reading this! ;)

The meat shield plays an important part in dodge ball.

All hail queen of thorns; you can not stop the church of thorns! We shall uproot the world of demigod!

I'm not even on your list because I wouldn't ask you for a snipe. I'd just shield and keep going.

Thanks for emphasizing my point for me...it seems the reasons you and i, play games, are very different.

Here is my most recent SoR reg replay:

http://www.gamereplays.org/demigod/replays.php?game=51&tab=upcoming&show=details&id=112683

Warning: it's really boring.  I get 1 kill the entire time and it happens at the very end.  It's not about the kills though, it's about supporting the team with endless spam and denying McShane a tower kill.  Also about running around with 3k hp at level 14 with 0 deaths.

The problem with reg games is that their are almost always total blowouts.  Either against you because reg sucks or in your favor because you get 15 kills in the first 10 minutes.  Neither one shows anything useful imo.  This is the only low-kill reg game I've had in forever.  I don't even know what value there is in watching it, but here it is none the less.

I still hate reg and think any other dg is better.

Yes. With SoR, even though you got lot of kills, and be effective at everything, but seems somethings missing.

Its fun that is missing. They think you are annoying, but you don't realize that your character is annoying.

its just same pattern, snipe, mines, mark
