sevenconfig.exe issue

I purchased Object Desktop about 2 wks ago, and I still can't get WindowBlinds to download correctly.  I get an error message after the reboot....sevenconfig.exe has encountered a problem and need to close.  I have tried downloading from different browsers, I have uninstalled & installed countless times.  I have right-clicked to verify installation, only to download again and again and again.  I went into the actual folder and clicked on the .exe files only to be told that important files were not downloaded.  I have shut down McAfee while downloading.  I gave permission to connect.  I have scoured the forums, reading and trying different things.  Nothing works...weep...weep.  I am a newbie so be gentle.  I have XP/service pack 3.  Please help.:pout: I'm not pouting....I call those sad eyes....weep...weep.  Thank You, hrydhswyfe

Did you have the trial version? Did you install Impulse and uninstall the trial version through Impulse?

Yes I have Impulse and downloaded through it.  Didn't have the trial version of WB7.  Did have a trial years ago, but used CCleaner to uninstall.

Ok I went back into the WB folder, right clicked on the sevenconfig.exe file and try to open , or run it.  I get same error message, then another pops up stating this:

Error 101  Unable to locate key WB files.  Please reinstall WB or contact tech support at [email protected].

 

I don't know if this matters, but I do notice on the MySoftware screen, it says the total size for WB is 224.21MB.  The update shows 55.86MB, yet when I hit the update button, only 45.09MB is actually downloading.

Please open the WindowBlinds program files directory and put the window in details mode (so you can see file sizes, dates etc)

Then screenshot this window and upload the image somewhere where we can view it.

I submitted a ticket on March 4th.  The only response given was that same day that it's on hold.  Shouldn't I have heard from somebody by now, or is this normal :maybe:

try this....I've had issues with Impulse not correctly updating with anti-spyware running as well as failed installation due to the same thing....

uninstall windowblinds > turn off any real time anti-virus/anti-spyware protection > open Impulse and click the blue button on the top left >  preferences > reset data > after impulse finishes updating exit the program > reboot > make sure anti-stuff is disabled > open impulse > install windowblinds > reboot > enable anti-stuff

Lantec - I followed your instructions to a T....unfortunately I still get the same error message after the reboot.  I even went as far as to uninstall McAfee and tried again...still the same :'( Thank You for the response:)

After months and months of nothing working.....I finally figured out what was wrong.  I went in and created the folder where wb themes are stored.  My computer didn't have it.  After that, I reinstalled wb and everything is working fine now.  After submitting my ticket and having a couple different techs...I sort of got fed up and was just going to eat the cost.  But I'm stubborn and continued to "investigate" on my own.   Yayyyyy!!!!!  I know I mentioned it to one of the techs, way back when and that didn't seem to bother them.  Well in my case......adding that folder did the trick. :thumbsup:
