why doesnt government control production of food?

food is arguably more important than health care.  We will all die without food, but some of us may be able to limp along without health care.  However, food sale is very free market.  Now, we can't leave something as important as food to the whims of the free market right?  sjouldn't we have government take immediate control of all food production? 

If health care is too important to leave to the whims of the free market, then what about food?????

They do it is called price ceiling and price floor. Everything in america's market is governed by these two things. Secondly politician and bank owners would get the best and most food while everyone else is bent over being fucked.

Brad Wardell has a bigger house than you I bet.  Are you going to raise a pitchfork against him?  If so, you should immeditaely divest yourself of all stardock products because frog boy is a vile capitalist worthy of scorn and contempt.

Rich people also can get more food than poor people.  As long as you get enough to eat whats the big deal?  You want more money and more food (if you choose to buy food), then work harder, get educated, take more risks, etc.

 

Just to be clear on my position, I do beleive in food stamps, as no one should go hungry.  but leave the markets in place.  As it is now, you can go to the emergency room and get treated.  While the health care system can't really be considered true free market as it is now, i do not think government should control it. 

A recent canadian politican came to Florida to be treated.  why would he fly all the way to Florida when he could have used the canadian system?

Government controls things to the benefit of the powers that be.  So, if government took control of food production, it would all be to the benefit of the powers that be.  You would lose the right to even feed yourelf, and would be even more of a slave to coprorations and the rich than you are now.
