Accidently installed AlienGUIse theme on Windows 7 (which has not yet supported themes)

Hello

A few days ago I installed AlienGUIse on my Windows 7 laptop (Home Premium 64-bit). I thought, if the theme works under Vista, it should also work for Windows 7. But some parts of the theme are messed up, so I uninstalled the theme and AlienGUIse, but some of the icons are still "installed" on my Windows 7 machine and I do not have the theme installed anymore.

Can anybody tell me how to completely remove this theme? Maybe by editing the register or any other manner. I should have known and be smart by not installing the AlienGUIse pff.

You can try using MyColors to reset your icons.  Make sure you've restorede back to the default Windows theme, and have uninstalled the AlienGUIse Thememanager, then restart your computer, download MyColors from here and install:

http://storage.stardock.com/files/MyColors_setup_ThinkGreen.exe

Don't apply a theme, but go to the settings tab, and click the 'Rebuild Icon Cache' button:

Restart your computer, and see if that helps.

But in AlienGUIse, there is no Rebuild Icon Cache button!

You should be able to update to the latest version of MyColors through Impulse, which will have the button.

I don't know about the "rebuild icon cache" method, but it sounds like good advice. To fix a similar icon problem, I installed MyColors, applied a theme, rebooted, applied the Windows default, rebooted and that did correct the "stuck" icons. Used on Vista 32 bit.

Also a good troubleshooting step.

friends those have installed " AlienGuise " in windows 7 have nothing to worry. Here i m giving u the perfect solution. I have also done the same mistake.

To completely uninstalled  "  alienguise " u have to do " startup repair of ur windows 7 ".

To bring " startup repair menu " u have to press " f8 " at the time when ur laptop start i.e., just after switching on ur laptop.

It will bring back ur windows at the time when ur windows it working perfectly. " NO PESONAL DATA WILL BE DELETED "
