Grrr. We’re gonna get bumped

Grrr. We’re gonna get bumped

NewKing_Medallion_Full There’s a big Impulse announcement on Wednesday so we’re going to get bumped to the following Thursday. I guess we’ll just be that much more polished.

Sorry about the wait guys.  The Impulse announcement is pretty cool though. I’ve been watching what they have in store. It’s one of those “Duh, why isn’t everyone doing this already?” type things. But IT can’t handle us, this and the Sins of a Solar Empire update next week too.

On the bright side, there will be a TOOONNN of new game info coming out this week.

Quoting Jalicos, reply 47Um, Hackbar, you do know where Stardock is located, right? Your "rabid fanbase" wouldn't make it ten feet before the guys with the pitchforks decide they'd rather be the guys with the fire, and the guys with the fire start wishing they'd picked something pointier to defend themselves with.

Except for those of us from Colorado. We'd laugh at all of the rabid fans who didn't think to be prepared. (I'm sure there are other states that would be prepared, but from personal experience, I know that everyone in Colorado is always prepared for almost any weather )

Seriously, Michigan winters are nice... I take the garbage out in my underwear.

I remember someone saying how the BETA would not be FUN. Perhaps this whole thing is part of the UN-FUN?

I must say though, I am starting to get more and more twitchy as every new Thursday comes and goes...

The Impulse announcement is pretty cool though.

could it be that Impulse get worldwide rights for EA titles or Ubisoft titles ?

It’s one of those “Duh, why isn’t everyone doing this already?” type things

That could fit since one complaint when comparing Steam and Impulse is the better regional availability for steam on some titles.

But it could be also the ability to register retail games on digital store in order to patch games ...

Or allowing 2nd hand market on digital store ...

I guess we need to wait to the announcement.

Impulse already has EA and Ubisoft.

Impulse already has EA and Ubisoft.

But only for North America, not Worldwide. I can't currently buy any EA or Ubisoft games on Impulse as I am in Europe

Frogboy and/or Boogieback need to timesync.  Boogie's first post after Frogboy's was time-stamped earlier.

Architecture note: it's probably not the client machine; Stardock probably has its forums on some kind of clustered architecture, and the cluster notes are out of sync.

Oh, in case anybody else didn't read through the lines, I think IT is really just "tied up" playing Sins: Diplomacy this week.  :p

That would be ace indeed! Would see a lot more sales to me at least.

Yea the Sins update is a pretty big deal. Lots of tweaks to pirates and other improvements.  I've been trying to stop playing Sins -- but keep failing.

Ah and here we've the real reason for the delay... Good its at least out in the open now. Doesn't this feel better then all those lies about IT and such? ;P

So what was the almighty announcement?  If it's 'Pre-Order Dawn of Discovery Gold and get a free copy of Heritage of Kings: The Settlers', I am decidedly underwhelmed.

Same here. Here's hope that it also wasn't the bore..err...spore announcement.  :puke:

That said looking forward to next week. :w00t:

Well, it seems that lots of EA titles (7)  have been put into the impulse store since the beginning of the week, available only for north america

well, thats fine - if only they'd stop sending me mails about it then, when I cant buy it.

yeah but EA titles is something everyone is doing already, so I can't see Frogboy qualifying it with a "why isn't everyone doing this already".

I don't think whatever it is has been announced yet. Hopefully soon.

If the announcement is delayed, then the next beta build...

Well the Sins of a Solar Empire patch has been released so that part of it is complete.  The Impulse news could still come out today or tomorrow I suppose.

I'm all for pushing back the beta for other (more) important announcements or upgrades to existing games, but if this goes on for another few weeks, stuff from beta 4 will be incorporated in beta 1G   since you guys keep giving us lots of new info really fast in your dev journals  . Gratz on the ImpulseTV, I'm looking forward to check it out, see if it is better then just normal video reviews.

Ok, that IS something everybody should be doing already!

I never expected this, a good way to show yourself as not just a steam clone.

Ok, thinking about it, that won't be so useful for international market unless subtitles are added to the videos or a text version goes with them. Language barriers, hearing problems...

Now that's pretty innovative!  Is it live now, though?  I'm anxious for the first videos!

they have 8 videos up and an additional six faded out, but I'd imagine that to increase over time
